I think your bowl of wax is too broad. Narrow down your question. They all have their advantages/disadvantages.

Who's the best, Dodge, Ferd, or Cheby? Same thing.
 
Its only about the motor... They havent put a cat in chevy for 20yrs+

what application? Drag racing, towing, sled pulling, daily driver, everything puts different demands on an engine, that's like asking what the best tire is without knowing what you're driving or where.
 
2 stroke Detroit because they sound sweet! That alone makes it the best.
 
The old 3208 was cussed by most but really wasn't a bad old motor. I've seen one in a one ton ford back in the day. Heck of a trailer puller. Injection pressure was like 18,000 lbs.
 
I absolutely hate the 3208, that said it'd probably be ok in a pickup, I just can't think of anything it can do that the 5.9 can't do better.
