What was the first and last year of the flc? Any changes along the way?
I'm honestly not sure of the first and last year. I'm going to say early 70's to 87 or 88. The FLD replaced the FLC.
There may have been slight changes, but the biggest change was the hood. Freightliner didn't change much, even when they went to the FLD. My 86 FLC and my dads 94 FLD have a lot of similarities, and I think a lot of parts are interchangeable.

Freightliner is known for a lot of things and build quality isn't one of them. Drove a couple IH Lonestars and I believe it's a race to the bottom with those two companies. The wind noise is unreal and the mirrors are bolted to the door which if it was any thinner metal you could read through it. Swear the mirrors are going to fall off.if the build quality isn't any better on those than the classic XL we have then I think I will stick to the kenworths.
