Transmission upgrades are coming soon. Im already beating super charged mustangs, corvettes, camaros and a couple of modded wrx. I havent been beat in a race yet and everyone seems to want to race me. I will admit 99% of these races are rolling start and only 1 was from stand still it was against a compounded dmax and he lost miserably.

Street roll ons are nothing compared to the track, you can race the same cars at the track and you'll get it handed to you. Its all about your reaction time, your launch and how well you hook, the only real world results will come at the track. Not to bash you but.... its true. Good luck top 5 is a lofty goal.
 
Considering when roll racing you don't have as much shifting to do, as much pedalling and footing to get a good RT and not miss the first shift...

Right!!! Its a different ball game completely, I've been in and out of manual vehicles on the track for years, I still miss the first shift or mess up leaving.
 
Agreed. I've got a great record doing roll races but I loose to 400hp 12vs at the 1/8th mile. Never taken my truck to 1/4 mile
 
Hardest thing for me was to get my 60ft down sub 2 seconds. Makes a huge difference on ET if you can get your 60ft time down.

Agreed!!! Lower tire pressure and a sub .350 reaction is my goal for this year! If I can keep the damned thing together.

I think I have 3.73s. I'm doing 101/102mph in the 1/4...around 33-3400 rpm. Just curious if you guys were swapping gears or running high rpms.

Edit...that's with a 33 inch tire.

I cross at 3600..@123.... Maybe start another thread for more responses...
 
Sorry I missed this. I don't get over here much. I have not regeared. Currently I'm on 3.73's with 34.7" tires and 6th gets me to 127mph at 3600rpm. I do plan to drop to 34" tire next time they're worn out to help with effective gearing ratio. Currently, I'm hitting the traps right in the meat of 6th.

Prospect, sounds to me like you have 4.10's.

Got a new time on Saturday at Great Lakes Dragaway. 12.60@111.6mph 1.96 60'. Left lane is an '06 GTO 6.0 LS2 with headers, exhaust, intake.
