3rd gear launch. Redline WOT and slip out quick. Hit 4th at about 3600 revs.

Yessir! GLD is my home track.

Nice 60'!

If that were true I'd be in the low 12's. :nail: I don't think its nice till its in the 1.8's. I've done 1.65 before but that was back when I was still leaving in 2nd. I've never been able to get below 1.79 60' when leaving in 3rd.

And, the no editing after 15 minutes is an terrible restriction.

Nice, looks like you're carrying 3rd out farther than I was in mine. Of course mine didn't like going into fourth gear at all. Fastest and best shifting pass I got out of mine was when the floater plate decided to commit suicide :lolly:

Ouch about the floater. Never had one of them crack. Even back when I had a dual disc.

On the previous NV without the Lube mod the 3-4 was absolutely brutal above 3,000 rpm. That caused me to shift much earlier. It makes nearly full power to 3500 rpm so I use it to get settled and really focus on nailing the shift cleanly.

If I had full fueling to 4500 like I'd prefer I'd have built these turbos quite a bit looser and I'd only be using 3,500-4500 rpm during racing instead of 2700-3500. This trans is a dream. It shifts so well I think it would do very nicely at 4500.

Need to get you one of these Andrew lol

^^^That looks familiar, except mine was in 3 pieces lol.

Broaner, I know having full fuel to 4K really made mine nicer to drive/race. This was after I put the 48 in though. 4.5k would be real nice to add some time to shift I bet.

What all was done to make the Trans shift well? Mine doesn't like 5th well

Yeah Gecovey. Don't need that around these parts. I've got enough broken crap as is. True boost launching will do that to ya I guess.

97, the trans has the lube mod from Standard Trans. More details about my trans buildup here. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-performance-parts-discussion/1509986-nv5600-upgrades.html

Okie, How are you getting full fuel to 4k?

Yeah that was the day I switched to the triple

On the fueling, it's different on all trucks with UDC from what I've seen. My 05 goes to 3900-4000, but my 06 only wants to do 3600-3700rpm. It's hit or miss between all of them 03-07.

I've got another 05 ecu that I'm tempted to throw in and see if it fuels harder. Not like my setup can really utilize it anyway on this tight secondary. Still, my hard fuel cut at 3600 is as low as the lowest I've ever seen. Would I need to change the Vin in the new ECU for the smarty to load the UDC? Also, I'm assuming I should return the original ecu back to stock before swapping them?

I was hoping that was a nv4500. I have a new ish Trans in mine with like 30k and want to prep another. I know my cintered iron clutch doesn't help the life on the Trans

Yes sir you'll definitely want to set your truck back to stock before swapping ECMs. As far as UDC loading up on the new ECM, you will most likely have to get a recovery file to flash into it before the truck will accept it and let you load your UDC into it. I did 2 today. If you end up needing a recovery file let me know and I'll take care of it. I don't think you'll see a difference in fueling by swapping ECMs but I could be wrong. Nothing surprises me at all anymore in the diesel world. :bang

Is that in gear WOT to 3900? Or free rev?

I'm not super interested in trying the backup ECU anytime soon. I'll let you know if I wanna do that. For now, I need to limp this thing along until November so no high RPM's. I'm planning to tear it all down over winter and switch secondaries and get a head built. I might find a brush hook in late October when I don't care if the head completely lets go.

50psi max for me. I think the crack between exhaust valves on #6 let go. Right after the dyno when it was cooling off I was standing by the engine bay with hood up. I was shooting the chit with a few guys about the setup and we all heard a loud pop. Sounded like a heat pop. Anyway, since then its been pushing coolant at anything over 65psi. If the money tree would flower right I'm planning to do a fully built head with D&J. But between the head, new secondary, manifold and wastegate thats a lot of cheese.

Right now I'm thinking 363/68/.91 T4 with provisions for a 50mm gate in the future. All up in the air.

I tried a 3rd gear launch in my reg cab d max and it doesn't like it i need a hotter tune. My crew didn't mind 3rd gear launches. My reg cab I launched it at 4k and it fell on its face ran a tenth slower than a second gear launch but a mile an hour faster. I currently have trans problems. Broke my short throw in 2 and I think I destroyed my slider in 4th from powershifting.
