sdx comp delivery valve vs?

I have yet to see someone tune their truck w/ cut DV's so it doesn't oralle corolla's all over town... so I have a hard time accepting everyone should just toss all their DV's in the garbage and run a cut 7mm DV that idles like crap.

The drop in idle was not present when I ran the 130cc 7mm delivery valves. Further, with the quick spooling combination of the 67mm s400 and spool flange with the timing at ~23 the combination was very clean for the fuel that could be produced at wot. This is just my experience though, results may vary.

I put smokems 7mm delivery valves in my truck yesterday, and now lope is gone and idle rise 50rpm 900 to 950rpm. now I adjust it 750rpm and the idle is smooth. I can drive it easily without smoke. thank you very much smokem!

Here's a vid of a wot pull. Way too much smoke. What is wrong with my setup? Currently I have 7x10's, supposed to be 148*, 100+cc comp's, no plate, modified rack plug, ect. I think the timing is somewhere around 18-20.

Would 5 hole injectors with the correct spray angle help any? I'm thinking either 5x16 or 5x18. I could put the 181's back in, but then power would drop a ton. Need some input, I really need to get this thing running cleaner.

Try tuning with your fuel plate back in the truck.

Did it happen with the addition of comp dvs or not? Definitely could use a stiffer AFC spring.

Well I don't really have a good comparison cause I never ran the 181's with this turbo. But with the 63mm charger and 181's it cleaned up to a haze.

i went from stock sticks and .024's to same sticks and 100cc over 7mm SDX's.... had to raise idle about 300rpm and noticed that i dont have near the same off idle grunt that i used too... truck will stall in 4lo 1st gear as opposed to driving itself...

Not that im complaining as i can light up my twins with the fueling i have no problem... im sure when i get my 5x.014's back in i will be more then happy.

I have a set of 100cc versions in my pump now but am still waiting on the new turbo before I can give any observation on how they run.

I have not gone wot with these 100cc versions yet (need to get fuel plate back in as I don't want to drown the 62 fmw) but common sense would suggest they will fuel harder than the 70cc versions due to a much shorter shoulder and less than the 130cc versions due to having a tight sealing shoulder vs. the turned down shoulder. They are just as response as the 70cc versions which were the most responsive set i've had in my pump to date but the idle drop is less pronounced between idle in drive and neutral. Also, idle is butter smooth. I have a new favorite.

This truck sucks:nail:. I think I'm gonna put the stock 181's back in and see what it does. 58 psi and 2000*, like I said before it never cleans up. My friend went with me and he said there was a flame out the tailpipe at wot. I also ordered some 145* 5x.018's, hopefully the correct spray pattern will help? Need to bump the timing a bit more too.

That really might be to small. What injectors are you running now

7x10's. I ordered some 5x18's though. I'm prolly gonna end up putting a 480 under the 66 but I think the 66 should do better than it is.

Those injectors probably have the factory stock Denso 158* spray pattern. Combine that with low timing relative to the fueling, long duration due to the rack plug and no plate, and added duration from the delivery valves and you've got a smokey hot mess that injects a ton of fuel and probably 25% of it is too late to provide useful power.

Adding about 10* of timing would help quite a bit. Adding a plate to cut back duration would also help, going to smaller DV's would help, going to tighter spray pattern injectors would help.

I was told the injectors are 148*.

Which would explain the flame out the tailpipe

Where did the injectors come from and how much did you pay for them? If the price was around $400, that's not enough to get the Bosch 148* pattern. If they started as the Denso nozzle, they have to be EDM'd to 5x.012" or larger to tighten up the spray pattern.

The Denso 7x.010's work ok when the pop pressure is set around 276 bar, you use the thin washers, stock DV's, and a plate to limit late injection.

I got them from Lee at contagious diesel. I paid like $425 for them. He said they were 148*, but I guess there could have been a mix-up? Also if I remember right they were set at 290 bar.

Where have you been finding your injector info. Just curious

7x.010's are hardly comparable to 5x.012 injectors... Just putting that out there, that may be why you dont feel like your 66 isnt doing what it should
