12v swap 85 F350 CCLB. 4wd

It's crazy how much fun you an have with these for little money.

TRUTH I helped a kid put governor springs in his truck, pulled the plate, modified the afc, and racked the barrels. That was IT, and that little truck scoots! For 100$ into the pump. That beats buying a programmer for 800$ every day of the week.

Ox locker installed

Going to try to get the axle swapped in this weekend. Be nice to have 4x4. And I'm sure the ox will be fun when it comes time for sled pulling season

The Ox loker is the cable actuated one isn't it? What gear ratio are you running? 3.55 still?

This one in particular is cable. I did not know there were other options. I got this one used off of a buddy. And yes. 3.55. Anything lower and you would go insane! Lol

You can buy the other actuators. The cable is the best bet. It was mine and worked great with the cable, just had to adjust it every once in a while.

Thanks. So far this thing has done nothing but impress me. I've been doing a lot of towing. My old turbo idi with 4.10s and smaller tires could not even touch this truck with the 3.55s and 35's. Plus thi is a crew cab. Next on the list is give springs in the pump and I'm saving my pennies for a new salad shooter

So much for saving for a turbo. Popped the head gasket. Luckily a buddy of mine set me up with the governor springs, studs, and rocker pedestals. But the turbo will wait.

That sucks to hear it already popped a head gasket. Do you know how many miles are on that engine?

It's rebuilt. So the few thousand I put on it. But I've been pushing wat too much boost. My turbo isn't wastegated. I have to regulate it down to like 30-35

Boost pressure isn't the reason for the blown gasket, timing has alot more to do with it (just guessing no idea what it's set at). Also not letting it completely get up to temp before ran hard will get one.

Jason ur the second person to tell me that. I've checked it with the pin in the side of the pump but I guess that just means it's timed to whatever they pinned the gov at. I always let it warm up before I ever get I to it. I have a 35 psi gauge. Assuming it's linear after the 35 I can definitely hit the 50s. Which is pointless it makes no more power there. But anyway. I was under the impression that the higher boost lifted my head and caused the leak. So I was going to stud it but I don't want to buy them if it's not necessary

Well I got the studs. And the gsk. The gov already had a 4k spring kit in it. So if anyone is looking I have a brand new set in the box. Ide rather take a hit from someone on here than return it and pay restock

Dana 60 is in with ox locker. I beadblasted and painted everything and even got new loaded calipers and rotors. So now I'm good to go. As well as all bearings and seals.
