2.6 Turbo Limitations

wow a 100hp is a ton if you think about it that is a 10% gain on the average top 10 tractor. I know guys that spend thousands on dyno time just to find 10hp here or there on there Superfarm tractors

So 10 hp mmmm what about the tractor setup if i would be 10hp behind the leader instead of spending hours and dollars on dyno i would look into tractor setup

I guess i should make this clear.

To my knowledge ITPA is the only orginazation that has the 100mm rule.

We are doing this because this is going to be the first year for this class under ITPA. So getting the brush puller to come pull with our organization is our big goal. We flat out need numbers. Sponsors do not want to see a new class come out that they donated money for only have 4 or 5 trucks. They want to see 10-15 trucks. The more trucks, the better the show, the better the show, the more people come out to watch, the more people come out to watch the more a sponsors name gets out to the general public.

NADM is a great organization and I dont think they need to change their rules. They have the ability to get trucks from multiple states. Us being a small organization can only pull trucks from a limited area, so the rules need to be set to allow more trucks to pull and be competitive.

I know when I go to a pull outside ITPA, i will more than likely have a large disadvantige due to my turbo size. But Ill take that any day, I just like to get a hook in where ever i can. I dont care what the other guys budget is, I know what mine is and what i can do to make my truck better.

If the goal is an entry level class, and your wanting to grow the class, I am guessing that you shouldn't be building an engine to run in that class. It will be geared more to the stock turboed truck?

NADM, DHRA, have the WS classes to target the entry level puller.
ITPA doesn't. I think the idea of a lesser class is great, but maybe it should be more of a WS type class?

Well, you have seen many of the brush pullers in this area. Most of the guys that pull every weekend at county already have pretty hot trucks, but not hot enough to run with the guys like Terry Copperess, Ric Scriminger or Jon Schwartzengruber.

So we thought a good class to get started in would be the 2.6 class. The ITPA diesels havent been around long enough to start up multiple classes this year, and with the economy its hard to get sponsors for one class let alone 3 or 4.

My guess would be after next year, if our 2.6 class works out well, we would then go with a WS, 2.6 and 3.0 classes. but time will tell on that.

Yes, but the 2.6 guys are having built engines. We know it will happen. It is a step in the right direction. I know of 1 already that is planning to have fly cut pistons and cam in a 2.6 truck.

Why all the focus on the Turbos? If it was to go to a spec turbo class or eliminate custom turbos guys would just find somewhere to spend money and win.

Why not eliminate the twin cp3 and 13mm pumps in the class to force some guys to step up?

What is next a spending limit in the different classes? :hehe:

I'd say there are alot more then 1 guy that has fly cut pistons and a cam in 2.6 class.

Maybe an ornery tech guy will invoke the test drive to see if the trucks truly streetable....just a thought..... :cheer:

My point is on a class that is targeted as entry level class as ITPA is doing.
If you have a class under the 2.6 then that gives the class for the local/entry level guys to run. If not your having the local guys hook with a 700HP truck.

No matter what rules you make, the same guys are still going to win. If they figured out a way to win bf they will do it again, you are just going to make them spend more money, thats all there is to it!$.02

Then you will have mod single cp3s. How do you easily tech for a 13mm P-pump?

There where built motors in WS stock two year ago. If someone can someone will. No way around it.

That is awesome!:hehe: That will just screw the P-pump guys. :kick: The electronic trucks can deal with that so much easier. Just the flip of a switch you can go from pulling tune to to street freindly.

If tech doesnt have time to pull off comp housings, how are they gunna have time for a joy ride :bang
Exactly!

He will be to busy try to get the huge hook out of someones hitch!:hehe:

Man. I can't believe all the talk about these turbos, pumps and more in the 2.6 class. It should be pretty simple to tell whats leagal and whats not. 2.65plug and let them run if they walk away by 20+ feet then give them a boot to the next class. Look at the other pulls aound. Whats the difference between the top 5 trucks in the class. If theres only a few feet between them then the class is pretty close. It's when you have a truck that wins by 20+ft every week that hurts the class. The owner knows where they belong.

I believe OSTPA has a deal if you win more than 5 pulls in a row you loose a inch of hitch height
