2 Stroke Oil

I run about 4oz of marvel mystery oil to a tank, and I got 171,000 out of an original vp pump, and I still use it.

Is there any differance in running the cheap 2 stroke oil from Walmart, to the Briggs&stratton ASHLESS 2 stroke engine oil??
I have been running the ashless, for the fact I have heard it will not leave any deposits or buildup, am I being to cuatious????, it is getting higher priced also, as its $1.80 for a little bottle, VS $0.65 for same sized bottle as the cheap stuff.....
just curious...

Billy, have you tired any really good 2 stroke oil? I may have to send you a qt, let us know if there is changes.

As much as I go through Gene it's cost prohibitive for me, I buy a gallon about every two weeks or less running a quart per fill-up. Now I would be very willing to try something different, with 200k on the stock IP I figure it to be on borrowed time anyway so why not? Only issue I can see is that I am not filling from a metered pump right now so I could not give you any mileage #'s.

After reading the study they done on additives in fuel and that a wal-mart brand 2 stroke oil beat most of all the top bran name stuff I tried it and I could tell a difference in MPG

I just ran a quart of Valvoline with a tank of mine, I didn't get a good millage check. But I noticed it ran quieter.
