$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

Thanks!, so since a sportsman tree is not being used, pro tree and class rules apply.

They apply, but double bulbing someone in a $50k race that has no points ramifications is a dick move, and will possibly result in an ass whipping. LOL

How many spots are still open? I would love to sign up, but I need to find a new block before I pay to enter. Would like to know if it's gonna fill up in a couple days, or a couple weeks...

Checks need to be mail asap. Make to "Super Stock Diesel" Mail to: Garmons 1222 High Falls Rd. Griffin , GA 30223...no way to tell how fast it'll fill up...

5 month to get ready.... Hope you make it!!! :Cheer:

Ding Ding!!

At the very minimum it'll be some bif

Dont Texas have good weather during this time? I know ur not going to change it but say I'm in new Mexico about 2-1/2 days of driving their hotel or sleep in truck lol then on my way back so about a 5 day trip I'm sure I would spend 1,500 at least to go that far.
Is this place close to an air port so I can fly out and someone pick me up to watch this go down?

In addition to the Bradenton/Sarasota airport, Tampa International is also in the area and may be cheaper to fly in to. Its about an hour drive.

This is somewhat of a tangent, but something I've been wanting to ask about has been brought up. I will not be personally racing in this event because my truck doesn't meet various requirements, but for future reference I'd like to know this. My truck is a manual transmission, I normally race ET cause it's the only class I can be competitive in. Next year I'm going to begin doing boosted launches with a line lock on my brakes. Am I gonna piss people off my double bulbing my truck since it would be quite hard to inch it forward into the second bulb? This is how i've done it for the last 2 years and no one has said anything to me. So now that I've got my truck to where I want it and I'm going to be attending as many races as possible I wanted to ask. Thanks!

Bump for Jeff's kick ass race as well!!!!

Ask Sam about this. It happen to him at Commerce the other night and he was pissed. If someone can't stage and get their turbo lit in 7 seconds after that double bulb... you're SOL. The gasser either did it on purpose or most likely, just didn't know how to race. Diesels on the other hand should know better.

At This race with $50 k up for grabs guy will use every inch of rulebook, track and power to win. But thats racing.

This race should have no issue's with spooling time any way the turbo's are too small.

It's the guy who spends 15 min spooling are the ones who get caught by the double bulbers. Test and tune is a good place to take a nap at the start line....:lolly:

Sam shouldent have light his bulbs before building boost.......

He didn't. The gasser double staged as soon as he pulled to the line. Sam wasn't even on his first stage yet. That gave him 7 second to do it all. In the double stagers defense though, it was only Sam's second time to the track.

Not making a big deal about this rule just forces guys to learn (1)how to race within the rules and learn (2)how to build a better quicker responding DRAG engine, not a sled pulling engine

Look i have been on both ends several times( accually lost (2) Big Rig championships because of my inexpirence, and i learned to build a better engine, and i learned how to race.

Thats why I'm asking, cause I can't ease mine up like you guys can while building boost. I'm not running 12.0 or prostreet, and since it's what I have to do at this point then I wanted to ask, I don't wanna make anyone mad, or cause any problems like at TS this year, but I'm not financially able to put a built auto in my truck and I'm trying to come out and support our sport, so I have to run with what I've got. Like i said before, never had any problems cause of it before but I may practice and see if I could stage, let other guy stage, get my line lock on, and build boost in 7 seconds. If it works, then we're good to go, if not then back to square one.

Thats not how it works, auto start only starts the tree when both sides have at least one light bulb on. or one lane is on. and it's a standard of 10-12 seconds normally.

Although it's the same final answer, I think the closest classes (being "Sportsman" but Pro tree, heads-up no-breakout) are TAD & TAFC. Both allow deep staging but do not require Courtesy Staging.

Hmmm, this already seems to be turning into a race for all the big names out there and not for the low budget racer. It was mentioned some where this was in appreciation for those that spend the money to make these companies what they are. For one, these companies mainly are the one's who can afford a $500 buy in, they're also the one's who have the cash flow to custom build / rebuild trucks they already have...etc. I would have thought, it was those companies that were to sponsor trucks of their choice as entrants and not enter their own.

apparently not at Commerce. Once one or the other double stage, the other lane has 7 seconds or they get the red light which is what happen to him.

So if the guys went to a sportsmans tree instead of a pro tree, then the sportsman rules would apply and double bulbing would be a disqualifacation, that would fix the concerned issue's at the line right?
