$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

For everyone like me who is looking at flying in to watch, check into flights and rental cars at Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Ft. Myers airports, they are all within easy driving distance of the race track. Orlando is about 1.5hrs, less if traffic is easy on the hell known as I-4, Tampa is right next door, and Ft. Myers is about 1.5 hours south.

15 pages..damn. Were the cage specs put in here somewhere or is that a not issue?
I though the track policy was 11.49 or <
I'm 6 miles from the track

Takes three stage bulbs lit of the four to activate auto start, period. As I mentioned before, if someone double stages, don't lite a bulb on your side until you are damn ready, after he has burned down and let off the throttle. Then quickly bump both of your lites and he doesn't have a chance.

Double bulbing is a moot point if you know the rules and how to race.

FINAL WORD FOLKS!!!

Talked to Jeff / Gary this morning...

The Scheid 2.6 rules and Tech Apply....

66mm Turbos!!!!!!!!!

NO Bushing...... 66mm wheels MUST protrude by 1/8 inch!

Is this clear enough?? (Not trying to sound like an A$$) I just need to make sure everyone understands and that I myself posted this right, for all to Understand...

Now.....Lets Build some truck, Buy some turbos, Mod some turbo's, and Go Have a Freakin Amazing Time!!!!

CAGES

As Long as the truck has the safety equipment in it already to allow it to Go as Fast / Quick as it will in this race per NHRA track requirements, Then BRING IT ON!!!

Is it no bushings or can the wheel protrude in to the bushing an 1/8 inch. Your last post was somewhat confusing

I am not really clear on this either. I think it would have been nice to limit it to a standard S -300 66 and that would have leveled the playing field and brought more true street trucks in that could be competitive and leave it more up to the driving then the equipment. Either way count me in for one spot. I wouldn't miss this for the world, I think it is a great idea and I will figure out something to be competitive. The check is in the mail.

page still is the goal.

Another question does it have to be 6000 lbs or more is there a +/- 1% rule like NHRA and NHRDA has? Your 6000 lbs might be 60 lbs more or less on another scale.

there is no +/- 1% in NHRA , in comp and Prostock if your 1 lbs under , you out . This is why you see the cars on the scales evey pass. so in this 6000 is a go , and 5999 is not

Hmmm, this already seems to be turning into a race for all the big names out there and not for the low budget racer. It was mentioned some where this was in appreciation for those that spend the money to make these companies what they are. For one, these companies mainly are the one's who can afford a $500 buy in, they're also the one's who have the cash flow to custom build / rebuild trucks they already have...etc. I would have thought, it was those companies that were to sponsor trucks of their choice as entrants and not enter their own.

Ty, this is a racer's race. Jeff and I tied the vendors to this race by requiring them to SPONSOR a racer to have a vending spot. Most all of these companies have a Pro Street or faster vehicle. That's not what this race is about. I am assuming your check is on it's way, correct? This race was designed for people just like you!! Now go make some horsepower and get your money in. Gary

OKAY

Just spoke to Jeff... Let me clear a few things up

It will be held in Bradenton FL.....No other track north of there will work due to winter

TRANNY'S HAVE to be either and Auto / Manual like it came as a street truck..I.E. Allison behind Dmax , 48re's behind the Cummins....NOW Of Course if you did a swap in a street truck like a Cummins / 48 into a Ford, then your good.... Or a 48 behind an Dmax your good......

NO LENCO'S................Sorry folks.....This is for normal street / strip guys that don't / can't spend that kind of money...

This will be the ONLY class running!! The rules are set (tires, weight, Fuel, Turbo) and will Not change....

2.6 Rules Apply.... I got questions about wheels, bushings, clearances, Distance between bushing / wheels..Wheel protrusion..... Lets just keep it Simple folks and play by the rules....If someone tries to Cheat , they will be kicked out of the race...Plain and Simple..

And Finally

YES STOCK FORD 6.4 TURBOS ARE ALLOWED!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY CAN NOT BE MODIFIED INTERNALLY.....THEY HAVE TO BE STOCK SIZE'S AND NO MODS

SO.....BRING ON THE FORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet! Your letting us Ford 6.4L guys in?

Sounds like Easy Money to me!

Ill get the 500.00 on its way

OK one more question
6000 with Driver?

We have a big driver for the parts truck.

The truck is 6010 pounds empty, Driver is 300.

Same truck that just took second at Super Street NHRDA Nationals in Kansas.

I may have to let Rudy Drive it if the weight is empty.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet in here, but David contacted me about editing the rules on this. I added it to the first page, but here it is here also...

Scheid Diesel Sled pull 2.6 rules and that the same tech guy that tech'd the Scheid sled pull will be there to tech this race

On the main page for this post. Is this still in fact true from David's OP? A member on another site suggested you guys would pick a "field" to be just like pinks, but this says other wise with in the same sentence

Then it will be just like Pinks All Out.... They will be eleminated down to the #1 Quickest truck of the day!!!

This the quickest in the "field" or quickest that shows up and makes it though all the rounds? ( fast moving thread, maybe I missed a clarification post or something).

But, then you have this that suggests the fastest trucks.

All 100 trucks will have 3 qualifying passes to get into the top 16....

Oh, I see... a vending spot. I was thinking it would be "no" vendors involved in racing other than sponsoring a truck and vending.

I'd love to have a check in the mail but, my truck would be far from competitive. If I had a sponsor, I'd make a good showing at least.

This is going to be about learning to tune to go fast and get in to the show, and then find away to hit the tree on race day.:tree:

I just knew there had to be at least one other racer on this forum besides me. :lolly:
