While I agree running say a S300 66 I got on in the garage I am down. Fact plenty more truck would be down.
Even with the modded turbos its going to come down to the weight and setup. Tuning well that goes to the Duramax guys.
Which we know one that would like to enter just don't know how to make the Allison live. How is Dmitri doing it?
anyone have a spare 66 laying around I can borrow for a weekend in Feb? LOL
I would consider myself a regular joe attempting this race (Although I have no intention as I am 17 and just simply cannot pull this off)
I like the idea of limiting frame size s300 etc. That would make it a WHOLE lot easier for persons like me (with somewhat limited funds) to compete.
He uses tons of gas, has twins and can't break 10.7 going down the track with a truck that dynos 1700hp+ whatever that means. He would have about the same chance in this race as Sleddy.

Dont Texas have good weather during this time? I know ur not going to change it but say I'm in new Mexico about 2-1/2 days of driving their hotel or sleep in truck lol then on my way back so about a 5 day trip I'm sure I would spend 1,500 at least to go that far.
Is this place close to an air port so I can fly out and someone pick me up to watch this go down?
predict a Dmax will win it, and the top of the field will be Dmax trucks. I predict that the entire field will be CR type engines whether it’s Dmax Cummins of 6.4 fords.
I will also predict that this will be so for the top 25% of the entire field
Absolutely!! And thats our fault for not getting it straight before letting the cat outta the bag.. But we're only one day into it with 5 months to go. Im Sure Jeff is in contact with all of the paid entries and has explained the revision to them. Im also positive he'll gladly refund and sell that spot to someone else if by chance someone did...
My apploigeeze for not having our chit together 100%!!
We'll try hard to not let it happen again!
:Cheer:
Sarasota/bradenton airport is very close by.
If swole/jeff havent gotten in touch with local hotels for special race weekend rates, let me know. im in the business in the area and may be able to make some contacts and get a deal made.
DAvid I don't feel you have to Apologize for anything it the same old crap from the same old places griping and whining!
Lets get er done!
Yea better limit it to only one ppump as well....
I'd have to certainly agree with you as far as the Dmax and CR trucks in the top 25%. The rules are lining up pretty good for the dual CP3 equipped trucks. No complaints here---it is what it is and I'd love to come down and watch. If it was limited to one pump then the playing field would even out a little more.
- from Section 2.2 in the 2010 NHRA rulebook, with my bolding added. The practice referred to as “deep staging” is prohibited in the Super
Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street
categories (permitted in all other categories). Both pre-stage and
stage lights must be activated to constitute a legal start in those
categories. In a dual deep-stage situation, both competitors will be
disqualified, except in the final round of competition, in which case
the two finalists will be rerun. When staging in Super Stock, Stock,
Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, or Competition Eliminator
categories, both contestants must activate their pre-stage lights
before either may advance into the stage beams. In the heads-up
categories (Pro classes, TAD, TAFC, SC, SG, SST), if both drivers
of a race leave the line before the start system is activated, the
driver leaving first is disqualified — if unable to determine who left
first, both drivers are disqualified. Any e.t.s posted would be void for
lane choice or other considerations. THE FINAL STAGING
MOTION, USING APPLIED POWER, MUST BE IN A FORWARD
MOTION, GOING FROM PRE-STAGE TO STAGE POSITION (this
procedure does not apply to motorcycles).
A reasonable amount of time will be permitted for drivers to stage.
The time limit will be determined at the sole and absolute discretion
of the official starter. Failure to stage upon the starter’s instructions
is possible grounds for disqualification. After proper staging and
receiving the starter’s signal to go, restaging for a second time is
prohibited. Any driver leaving the starting line before the start
system is activated, including a driver on a single run, will have his
or her time disqualified for the run.
Just to clarify the aforementioned NHRA Courtesy Stage rule, it only applies to the lower Sportsman classes. For the heads-up, first to the finish line classes (including TAD & TAFC, which are both Sportsman classes), it is NOT a requirement. I'm not saying which way it should be for this race, but wanted to clear that up:

BTW - if anyone needs a driver who is decent at pro tree starts on a footbrake, let me know! I also only weigh 170 lbs (I know, Timbeaux is still lighter) Seriously, I would sponsor a truck for entry fee and gauges if I got to drive it for this event.
