$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

If the racing is as good as the whining...it will kick ass!!!

LOL Yup!!!!!

Folks! Feelings wil NOT be hurt if you dont wanna race, backout, or simply don't like the rules!!!

This race wil happen and we'll race for how ever much we take in... If its not the full 100 trucks, Well then someones gonna take the whole POT!!! What ever size it may be!

And other races just like this ( with possible changes or truck focus) will occur again too!!! We just hope you'll all jump on board at some point!

This is about Bad A$$ racing and Big money FUN!!!!

Like it , Love it , or Hate it!!!

Just got home from Topeka, when I first saw this thread when we were driving back I thought, wow that would be a lot of fun, racers putting up their own prize money is something different.

I'm the first to tell you I know swat about modded turbos to meet some maximum allowable size. It you truly want this to be for the common Joe then made it a 66 stock turbo period and don't allow all the modded ones. It's no tougher on the guys who are running the larger singles who want to mod them than it is on guys like us who are running twins and who have to go to a whole new single set up if we want to race. Set it a true 2.6 no mods and that way no *****ing, is going to be the same expense for everyone and takes who can build the best modded turbo out of it. Put it on the tuner, suspension setup and driver. It would be more of what was originally intended of what was written on the first page still is the goal.

If the modded allowed turbos are allowed then it who can build the best modded 2.6 turbo to make way more boost then a stock 66mm could make. Is that what you want?

Another question does it have to be 6000 lbs or more is there a +/- 1% rule like NHRA and NHRDA has? Your 6000 lbs might be 60 lbs more or less on another scale.

While I agree running say a S300 66 I got on in the garage I am down. Fact plenty more truck would be down.

Even with the modded turbos its going to come down to the weight and setup. Tuning well that goes to the Duramax guys.

Which we know one that would like to enter just don't know how to make the Allison live. How is Dmitri doing it?

There will still be 80mm chargers show up, just going to cost more. Only difference is I don't see a drag racing application taking advantage of the big turbine wheel like in sled pulling.

I'll tell ya what!!

If you guys think we'll get more people interested and will have better racing, Then I'll talk to Jeff in the AM abou making it the S300 / standard 66 for everyone !!

Poll!

Post up your vote... Keep it the way it is now or just make it Standard s300 66's!!!

Now i really must get to sleep!! Only 4.5 hrs before im in that dang uniform for 17hrs!! Ugh!

David, I started a poll for you. Just not so sure some drag racers are aware of what some pullers are getting away with now as a "2.6 legal charger".

Yea, and let's all wear dresses instead of fire suits.

I can certainly change it! The original discussion Jeff and I had we agreed it would be a single charger no larger than 66mm. I can't stay on here all day for answering everyone's question's, and I don't know where this modded turbo shizzit came from. A standard 66mm turbo is what it's supposed to be. Jeff and I will get it cleared up in the morning. Gary

I say good luck to the race and Im sure that it will turn out bad azz. This is just my opinion sled pulling rules SUCK! Limiting the inducer size will only bring the custom chargers especially with this kind of money being involved. Regardless of what rules are put in to place there will always be someone that will spend the money to get one up on the competition.

Perfect!! Thanks Weston!

Can you put the link to the poll in this thread for me so everyone will find it quickly?? Or someone??

Thanks!

Gentlemen, the original concept of this race is to take a truck that weigh's a minimum 6000 lbs, running DOT tires, and NOTHING but DIESEL fuel, with a SINGLE 66 mm turbocharger and go racing! Jeff and I figured this would allow the MAJORITY of people to fit in. Where this other stuff came up is beyond me. This is a race for RACERS,to show your tuning ability, bring your truck to Bradenton and shoot for the grand prize. Don't try and make it complicated to fit your truck. If you can't meet the requirement's then I suggest you get busy if you plan to race. You've got 5 MONTHS to complete your task. I don't think we can level the playing field any better. Build em, change em, or whatever it take's to race. We may change the class up for the next one, but the rules on this one are set in STONE. Goodnight, Gary

I say make the entry fee $1,500, and they'll hand you your turbo at the gate ;)

anyone have a spare 66 laying around I can borrow for a weekend in Feb? LOL
