$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

count me out i'm not spending a couple grand to have a turbo made to those rules when a simple bushings could do the trick. i would say a hevier 4x4 doesnt stand a chance anyway. with that rule in tact there will be some monster chargers there

I would allow bushings, won't see such a large advantage in a Drag Racing scenario.

Yup, long as the wheel protrudes at least 1/8 inch into it.

Takes three bulbs to activate the autostart anyway. If someone double bulbs you, creep up without pre staging and let him burn down. That usually stops that nonsense.

YUP! I like that.... Let them get their tranny nice and hot and then role in...

Advantage YOU!

We'd love to have everyone but as you know, that's not truly possible NO matter what the rules are...

This is how it is for this particular race... When this one is over, there will be discussions about how to make it better or maybe to focus on another class of trucks ( hopefully quad cabs and heavier trucks ) and then we'll start taking pre-registrations for that race!!

If you can't race this go round, Please still spread the word and hope you can come watch and support us!!!:Cheer:

Courtesy staging should be enforced; anyone that rolls in two bulbs will have to back out. This may become a more common thing. There are plenty of million dollar raced in the gas world. This could and should become a class in all of the sanction body’s. This formula for a heads up class could and should catch on, and be called Super Stock. Or better yet, the “No whining eliminator “ .

This class is where the rubber meets the road. If this class becomes stable you will see a lot of innovation, and shops catering to building this type of engine programs.
Now the question is to go fast enough to qualify, yet be able to cut a light to win in the sport of drag racing.

you going to actually show up and race, or just keep sh!tting up this thread?

my checks in the mail, is yours

Hmmm. If these guys can't spool a 66 in seconds, then you shouldnt be racing ya think? Double bulbing shouldn't be a problem with what's considered small charger these days.

when you say 2.6 sled rules hat association are you reffering to? there are a lot of variants between associations on 2.6 rules. never seen one where you can just bush to a 2.6 most require stock mwe grooves and bigger chargers have to have clipped wheels and stepped covers ect.... i guess what i am trying to say is can i just have a 2.6 bushing made for my 480 or am i going to have to have the wheel clipped to where it protrudes into the bore x distance and have the cover stepped?

I thought you sold your s480 to some other guy?

I love the concept of this race and the pot. I just wish we would have thought of it sooner we are running out of test and tune weather up here fast. But this definitely has me thinking of putting a bar in the truck and trying to strip some weight out of it.

Why? this is racing come ready to race or go home! It's also within the legal IHRA AND NHRA rules, you should know this.

Besides a double bulb dont matter if the other guy knows how to race.... i'll let the guy who double bulbs, burn his tranny up before i even light my first bulb....that will teach em

We need racers, not whiners:lolly:

You must have never seen a bushing. Earlier in the thread it stated that bushings were allowed, then Scheid's rules were to be used, which requires protrusion. Which is it? There is a big difference in price.

Are we sled pulling or drag racing and what exactly are the scheid 2.6 rules

btw that track make you run a turnup pipe not sure if they will on that day or not

Why not have the race at Gainesville much larger and nicer track

Dang this makes me really wanna get an ED 2.6 legal turbo, some 200s, a set of dual cp3s and some drag radials! I wouldn't even have to drop weight! LOL

Your gonna want bigger injector than that.

Duramax guys making 1000HP with a 2.6 thats for sled pulling imagine different tuning on the track more could be had.

Why are the only people thats whining about the rules, also the ones that arent entering? I think this is the best set of rules in the history of diesel racing. Even though I probably dont have a chance in hell at winning anything and I'm 1000# overweight, Im there. Hell, I've been overweight all my life. No reason to let it scare me now. :hehe:

you need to read the rule book while you work on you NHRA lic's

If you do not courtesy stage, you will be backed out at any NHRA, IHRA race, I don’t know about ADRL, but I bet it’s that was as well.
It’s called courtesy staging, but it’s the rule
