$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

Will owns his own truck, and pays for all of the parts.

I know a handful that want to enter, but won't if it requires a charger with protrusion. No point in taking off or buying a charger for one race.

I do as well , $20,000 so far this year, and counting , but your just jelious , you can't pick up the phone and get parts , why ?

I'm thinking $25,000 is a pretty good point to swap turbos.

i know of a few people building trucks just for this race..

He is so out classed by this type of rubber meets the road kind of racing , if he were such a whizz kid in the diesel world , he would be confident in his ability’s and put up or shut up

You must have never seen a bushing. Earlier in the thread it stated that bushings were allowed, then Scheid's rules were to be used, which requires protrusion. Which is it? There is a big difference in price.

You're right... I have never seen one...

I'm not a sled puller nor was I at the Scheid event...

I thought what I posted would clear this up! If you (anyone) wants to race this event, do the research on the rules and weigh the cost option... If its a go, pay the money and show up. If its not, then please spread the word and come out and watch!!

Jeff is really going out of his way to try and accomidate as many folks as possible by allowing the modded turbos... He wanted to just say standard 66 or below and let that be that..

I guess this is just how its always been... Everyone pushing the limits and sharing their opinions... It all boils down to one thing though, this is Jeff's deal an he and Gary are calling the shots.... I'm just the messenger.

It is the first attempt and i'm sure it could always be improved upon.. The next race will be even better I'm sure... Lets make he best of this one though!!

In the quiet words of Rodnie King, " Can't we all just get along!!"

LOL

No Greg, I'm not jelious of you, I speak as though I have a formal education.

I'm not going to tell someone to take off a $2K charger for one race, where were all of your engine programs @ Topeka?

Don't misunderstand me David, I think it's a great idea, and a great thing that Jeff is doing. Do you think anyone may have entered under the assumption they could bush down to a 2.6", only to find out otherwise?

Come on guys!

Lets please keep this thread about the race and leave the person insults to the staging lanes threads!

We're try to recruit racers and grow the sport, not run them off with this kinda BS..

Thank you!!

If Jeff says its gotta be a 66mm turbo, I'll get one on the way. If he says I can bush mine down, I'll do that. Who cares. Its for $25,000.

Absolutely!! And thats our fault for not getting it straight before letting the cat outta the bag.. But we're only one day into it with 5 months to go. Im Sure Jeff is in contact with all of the paid entries and has explained the revision to them. Im also positive he'll gladly refund and sell that spot to someone else if by chance someone did...

My apploigeeze for not having our chit together 100%!!
We'll try hard to not let it happen again!

:Cheer:

Since we are running with scheids rules. This really gives the advantage to the Duramax guys as far as making power. If you want it to be a protrustion clipped wheel rule. Now if you said straight 66 like S300 and holset based that evens up the playing field grately IMO.

It also comes down to who can hook who is the lightest But sorry I'm with Greg on this one. I'll back out since no bushings. Not going to buy a new charger. Should of thought long and hard about the rules before posting this giving the northern guys more testing and time.

Testing up north is pretty much shot now.

Its time for me to go Beddy By!! LOL

I'll be on all day tmrw while on duty.. We'll answer questions / post then!

Thanks everyone!

I'm sure we will be down to watch as far as many Ohio truck's to race IDK. Just not enough time to get things straight.

We will see what we can do though.

Just got home from Topeka, when I first saw this thread when we were driving back I thought, wow that would be a lot of fun, racers putting up their own prize money is something different.

I'm the first to tell you I know swat about modded turbos to meet some maximum allowable size. It you truly want this to be for the common Joe then made it a 66 stock turbo period and don't allow all the modded ones. It's no tougher on the guys who are running the larger singles who want to mod them than it is on guys like us who are running twins and who have to go to a whole new single set up if we want to race. Set it a true 2.6 no mods and that way no *****ing, is going to be the same expense for everyone and takes who can build the best modded turbo out of it. Put it on the tuner, suspension setup and driver. It would be more of what was originally intended of what was written on the first page still is the goal.

If the modded allowed turbos are allowed then it who can build the best modded 2.6 turbo to make way more boost then a stock 66mm could make. Is that what you want?

Another question does it have to be 6000 lbs or more is there a +/- 1% rule like NHRA and NHRDA has? Your 6000 lbs might be 60 lbs more or less on another scale.
