$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

Thanks Jeff, this is a great deal for everyone involved.

What about a consolation race as well for the trucks that don't make the 16 truck field, maybe a bracket race during the event.

And the rule question , is that meaning no air to water , or no air to water that has a remote water systems

you going to actually show up and race, or just keep sh!tting up this thread?

Greg H. called me right off the bat yesterday and if very interested in the race... He's already called Jeff as well... I'm pretty sure he's in wether he races something he comes up with or if he sponsors a truck...

He even mentions donating a price of some kind...

when you say 2.6 sled rules hat association are you reffering to? there are a lot of variants between associations on 2.6 rules. never seen one where you can just bush to a 2.6 most require stock mwe grooves and bigger chargers have to have clipped wheels and stepped covers ect.... i guess what i am trying to say is can i just have a 2.6 bushing made for my 480 or am i going to have to have the wheel clipped to where it protrudes into the bore x distance and have the cover stepped?

the weight deal seems a little off to me as i have a regular cab 4x4 and its pretty well stripped for pulling and with a 1/4 tank of fuel and me in it i can only get down to about 6800# which is close but i'm talking one seat no spare tire or tailgate ect. seems this will be a 2wd drive trucks race or a chevy. i could only imagine a quad cab truck. i'm with others on adding 1000# to the minimun on the weight

on a side note this is an awesome idea and it looks as if there will be quite a few in attendence as well. good luck with everything hope i can make it

The others being me the only one to actually see and point out this little logic flaw in an otherwise awesome idea.

Rich, but... never mind. If this is what called a common folks truck race (or what ever), then I need to understand a southern dictionary better. In other news tho, you planning on paying the same detail to this new one as the current one?

This race is a great idea to bad we wont be able to race just due to the fact we are running twins. Good luck to everyone and thank you Jeff and company and thank you swole for promoting it.

anyone want to sponsor a charger/manifold/exhaust??haha

Your not the only one, Im on the same page as you...

i would be intersted in this. but what happens if we pay the 500 then something happens to the truck or cant make it down? is the entry fee returned?

I read the post about the conversions, but what about a DT 360 in an Excursion. I have cc ready if the answer is yes.....

I am assuming and will have to check but you could certainly SELL your spot...But the whole reason for PreRegistration is to make sure everyone that has committed, Shows up!

But I'm sure we could help you sell your spot...

I talked to gary earlier and from what I was told filling the spots wont be a problem...by what he said over half of the spots are already gone so a 6000# weight limit must not be too much of a big deal like everybody is making it out to be

Make sure to have the rules of racing outlined as well. .400 tree, .500 tree, autostart time limit, courtesy staging (or not) etc....

I had a few buddies who used to streetrace, so I can tell you where to look for nitrous. One of em had a camaro that had bottles behind the taillights in the rear quarter panels above the inner fenders.

.400 Tree, and I'm gonna assume 7 second autostart like we run at the Outlaw events.

We should have a tech there that knows where to look for nitrous...... Heard he has a nose like a bloodhound.

Got to get the rules on the 2.6 chargers up. A lot of " Sled Pullers" would like to enter need to know what your consideration on a 2.6 turbo is.

Greg anybody has a shot at this race. Good suspension reaction don't count the "dinosaurs" out.

I just talked with Jeff about the 2.6" rule and he told me there would be an answer soon. At this point he is leaning towards using the 2.6" turbo rules that were used for the Scheid Sled pull event.

Half the field is full and the 2.6 rule decision hasn't been made yet. A Lot of people would like to enter this but got to have the rules out there and thats a big one.

As soon as this is decided, we'll try to post them..

Seems pretty simple.
The vehicle is limited to a 2.6 inducer bore single turbocharger. The compressor wheel must protrude into a 2.6” bore for 1/8”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.65 inch plug the plug must not be able to enter the inducer bore. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than .200”. All provisions allowing air into the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. The vehicle driver will be responsible for making compressor wheel accessible for tech personal to measure bore and be able to inspect compressor wheel.
