$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

im just sayin it needs to be put out there if its gonna be done nhra legal or lrun like a brush pull and anything goes

It's the tracks job to enforce the safety rules I think...the fact that it's diesels has no effect on that...right??

Chris

i wont be racing my slug either..but i did fastest street car stuff for awhile and safety tech can be a real pita...same as roadracing bikes swole..think about all that grief

btw..we gonna tech post race winers as well as pre race right

However, I did not get a response about my conversion. DT360 in a Ford. And maybe to answer for others how about the 4bt conversions out there are they clear as well.

As for your DT360 Ford, I'm waiting on a call from Jeff but based on what he told me a day or so ago, If it has a standard type street tranny behind it ( no lenco's, etc) and it meets all the other requirements..Well then it should be good to go...

Will let ya know definately when I get a call back..

As for 4bt's...I would assume the same above applies...

That wasn't directed at you Dennis.... obviously the purse size opened a lot of eyes !

I agree.......It wouldn't be hard to send CagedFury to Dan Scheid and make it fit these requirements. This is a great chance for companies like myself to say thanks and support some of the trucks that fit in with these rules.......They are TS's primary customer. I hope a lot of other companies look at what Jeff s trying to do and get on board with this.

I am not a Drag Racer, but I guess you could loan me caged fury, we could mark it up with crayon, so it looks different, and give it a go. I will split the winnings with you. 90/10. LOL PM me if you like this...:hehe: I guess we can talk about it over tacos on the boat!

fergit all the turbo crap fer a second...this is nhra track?? how many trucks out of the 100 that yer hoping show will have the safety requirements to run 1150 or faster..
ive been thrwon out of this track in my streetcar lots of times for no cage. loops/curent belts/helmets/overflo containers/etc etc..the list goes on...what about air shutoffs..the gas cars must have a disconnect to run 1150 or better. im guessin theres a few guys out there that can run fast enuf to git thron out..500 bucks down the chitter for not having a cage or a shutoff and failing tech aint gonna go over well.
i wont be racing but im wondering what the tech rules are gonna be far as safety..

just thinkin out loud gary..i like the idea..id be sure to come support it...but all this pissin and moaning bout the trubo aint fer **** if ya cant run as fast as ya can cuz ya got outdated seatbelts or helmet...anyone addressed the blo by tubes?? typically the staging guy will wanna look if hes seeing drips or smokin...you know how bradenton is

gary

LOL @ this post Gary. I made almost the exact post on another board. Great minds think alike. :Cheer:

Subscribed this is thread is pretty funny sometimes.

I think its a great thing you guys are doing and hope more follow suit

I definately agree with the statement the big names are available to "sponsor" trucks and not run the truck they have been building. It puts the "customers" on the track and my hats off to TS, Genos and the others that are doing so.

As for safety guys wouldnt think there be much room for debate there, every event I have ever ran at the track officals take care of and enforce them so better make sure you are equipped to run what you run, if your runnign a 10.6 then you should know well what the rules for that time is and be prepared. We wold get one warning and the second time you break out you would get a nice seat to watch the rest of the guys that did come prepared. I dont think that because it is a "private sponsored event" that the saftey rules should or have changed. if a 10.49 requires a cage then your 10.49 truck needs a cage that meets the safety spec set forth for that class.

What is this "other board" thing you speak of? I have never heard of such a thing.

"The Other Board"

LOL

sure would like to make it to this but i will be moving to Hawaii... best of luck to everyone who races and hope everyone has a good time.

Last time I was at Bradenton you needed a stack or turn-up on your exhaust, just something else to remember. Can't wait for this to happen

BTW,

Can't remember if I shared this but, The vendors that sponsor a truck will be put into a hat and names drawn for Lane Naming...

So left and Right lanes will be called "The Vendor Name Lane"..... Folks will here the names all day / night long!!

Technically, yes he can. Logically, that's just throwing money away.

You can weight up easier then the bigger trucks can cut weight, just like sled pulling. you have the advantage to put the weight exactly where you could use it best....

As for the injection comment. That's a hell of a can of worms. :)

Our entire motorsports isn't logical, sounds like someone is just scared. :hehe:

There was a post a few pages back that said the field was already half full, can we get a list of all the competitors and what kind of truck they have. Just wanted to see what the field was gonna look like.

Everybody else is throwing out unsolicited opinions, so here is mine;

If this truly is going to be an average Joe's race then all the trucks should have had to come with a diesel from the factory. As in no half ton trucks, rails, transplants etc...If your gonna keep it real average Joe racing then race real average Joe trucks.
On a side note I guess I went the wrong direction on our truck to get to race for big money:bang
