$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

There was a post a few pages back that said the field was already half full, can we get a list of all the competitors and what kind of truck they have. Just wanted to see what the field was gonna look like.

Everybody else is throwing out unsolicited opinions, so here is mine;

If this truly is going to be an average Joe's race then all the trucks should have had to come with a diesel from the factory. As in no half ton trucks, rails, transplants etc...If your gonna keep it real average Joe racing then race real average Joe trucks.
On a side note I guess I went the wrong direction on our truck to get to race for big money:bang

We talked about this and we kinda thought it would be fun to keep the list and truck details quiet..... Not to be mean but simply to create the anticipation and Excitement on race day!!

Not 100% on this yet...We'll see....

In fact, what do you guys think about this????

what does it matter if it's a half ton or rail..6000LB is 6000LB..Just sayin not trying to be a smart ass

YES you were!!!! Don't Lie!!!!bif

The key word being used all along in this thread is AVERAGE JOE and the average person does not have a 6000lb half ton truck. If a diesel engine has been transplanted into a half ton, it generally it was built for a purpose ie; race vehicle, therefore not an everyday average truck. JMO and not meant to derail or start arguments, just simply an observation.

it's all good man...i was just simply saying.

I say post it! Do we need another poll in this thread? Has any one thread ever had two polls in it? Damn I have a lot of questions I have no answers to!

no i wasn't..you know me better than that swolebif...but i am gettting tried of all the cry babies on here.Half of them aint even going to be racing..

Simple economics - takes a lot of work to make a 6K lb. weight break in most of the trucks used by Joe Diesel... Time=Money

Much easier - and more beneficial - to weight up for the lightweights that are already quick.

I hope this event turns out to be winner (already scheming how to do it), but can't see how it's geared towards the average guy in view of the "rules".

Big purse paying 16 deep with "anything goes" not covered by the rules is going to draw - no demand - big money to compete in the money slots... no one renting a diesel U-Haul is gonna bring home any bacon from this one!

I don't mind! I will go ahead and say that I'm going! I've only raced diesel trucks at three events this year, and I plan on going! I'm still unclear on the turbo(thanks to all the bickering on here), and I'm still going. I don't know if I have a shot in hell at winning, but I'm still going! Thanks everyone for getting this together! This was Jeff's idea, but it's up to us as racers to make it GREAT! :thankyou2:

Good luck Aron!

I agree. If I had an 8500lb mega, I'd still be there. You never know, it might be your lucky day. It seems a lot of guys think the 6000lb trucks are gonna dominate, but I dont think so. Sure, some of them will. But not all. As a great man once said, "to finish first, you gotta first finish". Not every truck there is gonna go rounds without breaking something.

The wierdest thing I have heard one this thread(mainly from the people not entering) is that it pretty much isnt worth the money and effort to make this race. ITS FOR TWENTY FIVE F*CKING THOUSAND DOLLARS. And it pays 16 places. Hell, if all I had was a Isuzu Pup diesel, I'd be in.

David, Gary, Jeff

How much of this event is to follow the pinks style? All of it or just the last 16 trucks eliminating each other?

Dave mentioned "pinks" there is some confusion up north here. Near canada. :)

This'll be 5 months of *****ing I guess.
Y'all keep *****ing...I'm shopping for a truck to build.
If all goes well I'll have my new DD done in time and be able to take part in this.
Even if all the spots sell some people aren't gonna be able to make it so I cen see some spots being for sale as race time approaches.

LOL

You Should'a been an attorney man!! You Don't miss chit do ya!!!

Well the "Pinks all out" comment was just something I adlibbed in there man..... Mainly just focused on the top 16 eliminations deal.....

I guess I just used that term cause it was on the mind.....So please don't read anything else into it...

The way it was explained to me is : 100 trucks....3 qualifying passes each to get their BEST pass....The top 16 quickest pass trucks will be the Top 16....

They will race for the $50K!!

When I first read this, just out of pure curiosity I started calling around on automatic trannys and you know what? I actually found a few great priced ones! And just 3 weeks ago just about had a 66mm s-300 bought. Several sets of huge injectors going on here too!

Could have had a truck together! Ha i wish, But i will DEFINATLEY look forward to another race like this with big pay outs. I cant go to the first, but I will try to be the first in line for the next few!
