$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

a dmax probly will win.. but maybe some of the bada** sled pullers will come down and keep that from happening. All we can do is show up and see.

A real drag racer who can cut a light on a .4 pro tree will win, and one in a truck that will go rounds and not burn up with the massive EGT's that are sure to kill many of the trucks.

You ever tried to drag race a sled puller G14 classified turbo and keep it Lit all the down the track?? Gear ratio's, going thru the gears, and converters locking up??

I think some are in for a surprise if they try it.. Better not let it fall off the charger.. That guy with the good lite and a s300 based 66 might stomp that A$$!!

Sleding is not Drag racing!!

We'll see!!!!

i raced my sled puller last year with a setup 3.0 charger locking the convertor and manually shifting as i do sled pulling but in 4 hi and never having a problem once keeping it lit all the way down the track and i was running high 11's blowing the stt mud tires off all the way through 1st and 2nd gear. with a little suspension work and some cheater slicks i'd say it would run ok....

If I were going to put together a truck for this event which I am not. It would be a dmax, (surprise surprise) a single cab LBZ 4x4 that already comes damn close to 6K right off the street. I'd set it up to have the appropriate safety equipment that would get it legal to 10.0. I'd stick a duriflite tranny in it, and I'd have one of the turbo gurus (several of them on here for sure) make me up a turbo that is legal and works best with my built engine setup with lots of testing. Dyno testing for sure and strip if you can get one. Driver ability, tuning and suspension would be my priorites and in that order. Hopefully the driver is also the tuner. A good set of MT drag radials and the ability to quickly add and subtract weight in small increments if they are in fact going to weigh all the trucks who make the final 16 either before or after each elimination pass.

That combination would be difficult to beat.

The check will be in the mail tomorrow. My truck has a blown motor, the trans needs to be gone through, and i have no roll cage. hell yes. the next few months will be busy. :lolly:

From the looks of all the new people signing up for Comp D, I think the management owe's Jeff and Swole and me a drink :Cheer: I think this race has made the economy take an upswing LOL Buck Ofama. Gary

A drink??? Heh, more like I will have ya'll knee walking before the night is over with :evil

Cool idea i like it...

Just to be clear the 6.4s are still allowed unmolested stock twins right? (not that i think they are any better than a good 66mm charger...)

Sounds like fun but I wouldn't be able to make safety rules. Someday it might have a cage but today is not that day.

dont puss out Brandon. I know what your truck runs and I bet we could come up with some tires that hook better for you to use too.

Exactly a lot of theese 2.6 truck's are already into the 11's many pullers have done it. Take that combo put it in a Regular Cab and you very have a high 10 low 11's truck.

They just don't know how big of a charger it is that makes so much power.

If the GAW truck is going I give them a good chance.

There will be some liberal interpretation of the rules but I'm gonna guess a lot of those sledpulling 66's will be illegal.
As to the GAW truck...take away the nitrous and that thing probably runs 12's. I don't see it being a factor in it's current state.

YUP!!

Come on out and race / watch!
Loved to have as many folks there as possible!

Especially Ford's... Heard rumors that other forum's , the Ford guys think this is Not a Ford friendly race...Not true!!

Rules

The turbo will not be a issue. These rules leave the turbo WIDE OPEN! Now the truck set-up will be a make or break. DRIVER,DRIVER,DRIVER will be the ace in the hole! Is this a 1/4 or 1/8? I'm guessing a 1/4. I "REALLY" hope the tech is top notch because I can see a lot of cheating going on for this amount of money. If people think it won't happen they need to get there head's out of the sand!!! This should be like a good old street race! Jeff

-I agree on what is going to be an advantage or not... Good driving and a decent setup / Reliability will win this race!!

-Yes! 1/4 Mile!!

-I'm sure tech will be top notch but for the official record, We can only do so much without making it just a huge hassel for everyone... But Cheaters will be treated as criminals both on scene and post race internet!! Cheat at own risk!!

- I'm just hoping that ONLY folks with true integrity show up for this race!! ALL OTHERS CAN STAY THE FK HOME!!

I'm interested, but haven't seen yes or no answers to these questions:

Can I run a hx82 with 2.6" of compressor showing for the first 1/8"? Yes? No?

Can I run an air to water intercooler? Yes? No?

Can I run an altered/roadster body? Yes? No?

I'll be back in a week to see if there are any firm rules nailed down yet and we can quit playing 20-questions.

No on the charger, no on the air to water, and yes on the altered/ roadster as long as it weigh's 6000 lb or more. Gary

200 passes..... you run 2 trucks at a time.

Believe me, it is more than possible. We had 120 ET trucks @ TS in 2008.... Not to mention the other stuff(16 Prostreet, 20 something 12.0 trucks and the rails, funnycars, etc.) and we got Time trials, 3 qualifying rounds and eliminations with a buy back round in....

I just hope there are some crab legs somewhere down there. My wife is driving me crazy to go to FL for crablegs. She only weighs 120lbs, but when she gets done eating crab, it looks like a dinosaur died.

Best place I've found is outside of Bradenton in Apollo Beach, FL. Its called Shenaniganz and they have all you can eat Snow Crab for less than $20.

Blowing the tires off at spring river tracks doesn't count. It is like pulling in sand.
