$50,000 Purse for a Diesel Race!!

I have no dog in this race but just a thought that if the payout does get changed I think a percentage would be the most fair way of doing it. If you reach 100% of entries well then payout is 100% just like originally planned. If you reach 50% of the 100 entries then payout stay with the top 16 like planed but are reduced to half the $$$ if ya get 40% of the entries, well ya get the point. I think that would help out a lot and be the most fair way of doing it. :cheer:

I dont have a dog in the fight either but I don't think they should change it. I mean 34 people signed up in agreeance to the payout. They all paid to a chance at 25k or all or nothing. Leave that way. Make it good for the fans. Let's see the trucks fight it out for the cash, not settle for a percentage

Jeff, I can't speak for the racing association's but Dennis Perry and Dan Scheid will be at this race to get a feeling for incorporating this class into their race's. From what I am hearing this class will be included into all of the Outlaw races this season. What I have been telling all of the racer's that call me is if you are not 100% sure that your turbo will pass tech, bring one with you that will. There will be quite a few turbo companie's in attendance that are going to bring class compliant charger's with them. I am really wanting this particular class of truck's to do good. This is a type of race that has never been tried before, and yes there are some thing's that will need to be massaged as we go along. The payout that Jeff and I worked out is not written in stone. If we do not reach 100 racer's then the racer's that are present and racing will be allowed to structure the payout. If does not matter to Jeff and I as we are not making one thin dime on this race. We done this race for a couple of reason's, to stimulate the diesel racing economy and to generate a little excitement. I think we have accomplished those task :Cheer: It's going to be a GREAT race either way, and I hope everyone that attends will do so with an open mind so we can go FORWARD with our bad selves:lolly: Personally, I'm trying to aquire and build a 6.0 :ford: for my entry because working and tuning those retarded thing's is what I do  We have about 33 day's and counting to accomplish what we set out to do and then we will move forward. I'm hoping that someone else will come up with an idea for a race just like what Jeff and I did. Looking forward to seeing all of you in Bradenton, Fl. on Feb. 25th. :Cheer: Gary

You know i will be there also. I have a sponsored truck in the race(New Era not NADM) So I will be watching to see how everything goes. But as for the racers your trucks already fit in our rules. They can be tuned to 12's if everyone is thinking a 11 second truck is going to win this. Add nitrous and run the unlimited class. Lets face it the only reason there wont be any nitrous on the trucks now is because its in the rules, or everyone of you would be running it.

You sound more like ****ing comp every GD mother ****ing day!!

C'mon man!! Lets leave the Wade (or whom ever for that matter) Bashing OUT of this thread!! Or Any SS thread for that matter...

There are other threads for that! .... He can have an opinion just like anyone else here....

FACT is, Someone like Phil Taylor (Slowpoke) or Jeff Garmon (Jeff2) Will TREE your A$$ and win that race if you don't know how to cut a light... I can Guarantee you that Jeff and Phill won't have an Expensive turbo...

I think we'll be surprised...

I'll tell you why Wade, because people like you will show up with a S366, then get your ass handed to you by trucks with S400, S500, HX80,82's GT55 frame chargers with custom 2.6 front covers and wheels to make it legal.

Just goes to show you wouldn't have brought enough if you would have shown up.

We'll See there Mr. T!!
Like I just posted above... I think we're gonna be surprised at how well some basic turbo guys will do...

No doubt people are running decently quick with a S366 and that's what they will bring, but if your coming into this race thinking your S366 is the chit and that's what everyone else is running your sadly mistaken. There will be quite a few 1000hp+ 2.6 chargers at this event and they won't be S300 framed.

The point Im trying to make that most can't seem to grasp is that yes the "old school" mentality of "if it works use it" might just end up handing everyone their ass, but I promise you the attitude will change really quick when the hoods start popping open and you hear "Oh fukk is that a 2.6 charger?????", that will be followed with "no but the cover is so it's legal".

Then the urine trail will get that much longer.......

I'm sure if the "Gap" between the High dollar 2.6's and the s300 framed 66's is a HUGE gap, then I'm sure Jeff / Gary will modify the rules for the future races to make it more like they originally wanted to make it a competitive class...

I think its a Great effort on their part so far though!

Only time will tell

The huge clipped turbos won't have the advantage. This is a drag race, not a sled pull....

50K race

I agree with TMoney on the turbo. There is no way a 3 series frame can make the power a 2.6 built charger will make. Now with that said with a verygood setup truck a small frame will run with somr guy's who don't have the drag race part down. I can assure you Phil and JeffG are not the only ones who can cut a light in this race. Man I wish it was now so I could get out of the cold! Jeff

Oh I'm sure Phil and Jeff aren't the only ones that can cut a light...They just seem to do it when it counts...

Only my experience with watching them...

Point is though, I'm just hoping that it's not an issue come race time and the 66's with have a good chance..

Dates you have listed are 25 & 26. Whats the schedule for the races? Test on Friday run on Saturday??

Pete, the entire schedule is on the tracks website. Friday morning we will be teching truck's, then later in the evening there will be one qualifying pass. Saturday will be the other two rounds of qualifying and the gamblers race. Pay attention Pete! The track will also be open Thursday night with there regular test and tune. Out of town racer's may want to be there for that to dial their trucks in. Camping at the track is allowed. Gary

Not everyone is racing a 12v :hehe:

It's gonna be interesting to say the least...

If any vendor's need to ship anything to Florida for the race I have plenty of room to store it here at my shop. I can even carry it to the track for you as long as it's not too heavy or bulky. I have a 44' enclosed gooseneck trailer to keep it out of the weather. Can assist with shipping it back after the race. PM me for info. Gary
