500-550hp

All you need for 500-550 hp is a 62 turbo =P

As far as 71 vs 74, I'm pretty sure they clip the turbine on the 74 wheel which makes it less efficient so it probably flows about the same as the 71. Then again we'll probably never see a turbine map for either so wth? 71 turbine sounds great out the exhaust.

You don't have to clip it depending on the housing.

I still wanna be able to tow with my truck. I only tow here and there but when I do it's heavy. I want power and functionality. I wish I had the money for twins

how much does a 20 foot camper weigh? im thinking about taking a road trip from california to montana soon and am wondering if a 20ft camper would be to heavy of a tow with my silver bullet and jammer 4's with comp on 2x5. ive figured our how to drive the truck in altitude with this set up just not with a trailer.

It is hard to strike a a balance between the 2 on a 24v that has a goal HP of 550 on a single that tows. I would lower the HP goal and find a charger that wont be a dog out of the hole.... they are more fun to drive anyway.

Well I have 200hp injectors. As long as I can keep them under control as far as egts then hp really isn't to big of a deal. What turbo will cool these

I am runnin 200's. My 64 does well....but like I stated earlier it gets tuff with a good amount of weight!

Tim is right on with that balance!!

You have a stick, so you have the upper hand with EGTs and towing. If I towed with those 200s with my Auto it would get HOT.

how are egts while towing with your set up ph4tty? do you feel the cam was worth the labor?
The helix 2 cam is worth it for the bullet proof fuel system it powers and the 300 rpms I gained in spool time by installing it. I do have a dually, but the only thing I haul is ass :hehe:

Once again, I stand corrected =X

jt3436- I can tell you from experience that a 64 is overkill for 500-550 hp. Is it a 6 speed? 4.10? A yes for both or either will help especially if you're running big truck wheels. If I had to chose again I'd want to try a garrett stage 3 which is a ball bearing 64.

I have a 5sp 3.55 and 22.5 wheels. I would like to switch to 4.10s since I put the truck tires on

better stay in the 62/65 or 62/71 range if you still have 3.54. trucks already goign to be under load with those monsters. you even lose the extra mid-range gear with the 5 spd so you're going to need all the low end you can get.

Hmmm I didn't realize it would be this complicated picking a turbo. Thank you everyone for all the input

Im slightly in the same boat at the OP, 5spd with 3.55s. I dont tow a whole lot. just a 25ft gooseneck that i put my bronco on, though im planning on out fitting the trailer with a water tank, winch and tool boxes for all my rigging chains.

The truck is a DD that i wouldnt mind having a little get up and go, but would rather sacrifice power and speed to have the peace of mind it will stay cool while pulling.

you say lower the hp for towing, would a 62/65 or a 62/71 be better with 110 injectors (been looking at DDPs)? then a 13ss or 14mm cast?

so basicly a 62/71 would be better for towing but can it clean up my 200's?

I ran a 62/71/14 with my M5's. It was a great setup until about 3200rpm, then it got hot fast. I had to watch the pyro closely up there, but it sure was fun to drive. I did 534hp corrected with that combo.

I have a 62/71 with DDP 150's and it cleans them and I rarely see over 1300, but i think with some 200's and someone that wants to tow, the 64/71 or 62/74 would be a great all around turbo!

I towed with the 66/71 I had and It would tow but it sucked and was smokey!

My 62 is extremely fun, it lights hard (above 12psi) around 1700, and makes somewhere around 48-52psi gated at 45! I am gonna try some ddp 200's soon!

If I change one thing it will be a 64 wheel and housing!
