6.7 silencer ring

Ya gotta do 2 or the balance will be way off. The benefit is its twice as loud !

These guys are joking about the power man...lol

Only reason to do this mod is for sound of the turbo whistle.
And on this turbo it a bit of a chore according to what I've seen.
There's a large thread about it with pics on Cummins Forum if you want to go search that.

I wouldn't bother with it for just sound... I like to hear a turbo sing as well, but it's just not worth it in this case..

A better way to remove the silencer ring is to not secure the compressor cover properly during install. Then while driving the vibration from the engine will cause the cover to rattle loose and the compressor wheel with all that energy will shread itself to pieces and rip the the silencer ring loose. After that it just falls right out!

Why is it that everyone with a "silencer ring" wants to remove it for more power yet the turbo manufactuers sell "race covers" at a premium due to the fact that air flow is improved? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Your key word was "sell"....as in "costs $". Trust me, I've been all through this truck looking for ways to gain this and that for free. Gained some lost some. It is human nature....'epecially when you gots wifes and kids and pets and land and NO extra money. :D
