Borg Warner test the BATMOWHEEL

It appears to me that all of you guys who wanted proof and asked for proof that the BatMo is better are all to scared to sign up and prove it, since no one has signed up yet. But you are all right there on the band wagon to post up in this post about how you all knew the BatMo was a gimick. Also I doubt ED and Fleece will enter the competition they are to worried that they will prove what they already know and won't admit and that is the BatMo works. I bet if ED and Fleece were to even think of entering, they would be trying to buy a BatMo to test against their turbo's before even signing up for the same fact they know the BatMO works.

A test is only a test if you control it. An uncontrolled test as has been proposed is a waste of time. Why would anyone signup to have someone beat on there truck/engine and pay them for doing it?

You again? Thought you got enough of an ear full in my Batmo thread? There's no need for anyone to sign up, I've already done this test, minus the dyno, on my truck.

Step 1: Installed S475 Batmo
Step 2: Batmo failed in 1/4 mile at less than 20 PSI
Step 3: Fight with BEP and get NO WHERE
Step 4: Install BW S475 (1/3 the cost)
Step 5: DD on street and see over 50 PSI all damn day
Step 6: Take to track, run 11.8s at 4,200', drive home
Step 7: Now I'm just waiting for my sticker: Batmo sucks _____ (fill in as needed)

I don't blame anybody for not signing up, besides the obvious heavily noted flaws, I wouldn't risk my motor. I got lucky that mine didn't grenade, but believe me I've talked to several others who lost more than their Batmo when it went pop.

why you think it works? the hard data is right there? That test does not lie.
like previously said, its obvious to see a spool increase and a top end decrease.

Actually I loaned chase fleece a batmo for the trailer tow and sled pull of dpc this year. The truck lost noticeable power. They only ran it because it was the only thing available in a 1 hour time period. Needless to say chase was not pleased with it.

This is funny **** ^^^^^^

The reason to sign up and pay is if the BatMo doesn't work like you all say then that is money in everyone of your pockets then guaranteed because a plain BW charger will out do the BatMo of the same setup at least that is what that so called chart shows in this thread. And like others have stated you guys pay to put your trucks on a dyno any other time for nothing more then to get HP numbers and tune and most of the time it's 2 or 3 dyno pulls right in a row, so what is so destructive to have your truck put on the dyno with a tune you selected and have it ran once possibly twice with your charger then have the same charger setup except with a BatMo wheel and cover put on and ran again. Not only do you get money if your BW charger makes more HP but you also get the right to go around with proof that the BatMo doesn't work. I am sorry to say but if I was so positive the BatMo doesn't work I would be the first one to sign up to help prove it plus put money in my pocket in the process, I definitely wouldn't be sitting in a forum like a bunch of nancys to scared to put your money and your keyboard only know it all ness on the line to prove something.

That's not what the "challenge" states, it says that they can change the tune at will. How is it a fair test if the tunes are being messed with?

This thread is so full of stupid it's not funny. BW already proved the superior design. What's really funny is this so called new wheel is not new at all. I saw scalloped turbo wheels on F1 cars from the 80's at the Ferrari museum. But later turbo cars had returned to standard wheels. If there was an improvement all turbos would have that wheel design by now. OEM's do not leave money on the table, if it was possible to make a smaller turbo flow like a larger one the cost savings would be in the millions by now.

Diddnt Aron Nick (Spelling) Win that 2.6 Drag race, and that was the Batmo Debut?

Since I pushed the batmo design for a while, I feel i should explain this a little better. When we got to the track that thursday(2.6 race), we were offered to try this batmo wheel. Arons truck was the fastest at the time, so we decided to put it on his truck. He was running low 11s on a clipped 75mm(i will not disclose the turbo builder). His fastest pass was 11.10 iirc. After than pass, he came straight back to the trailer, bullseye installed the batmo 66mm wheel. Aron made another pass at 11.0x and then a 10.90. So, it was obvious that the truck gained some power with nothing changed but the wheel.

And after LOTS of turbo testing on my 4wd, I found that the batom 66 was comparable to the billet 75. The batmo 75 was comparable to the billet 78. This is only track testing, no dyno #s or flow testing. So from my point of view, this design worked.

But none of that matters if the company doesnt take care of their customers. So I apologize to the ones that got their recommendation from me to use the batmo turbos.

Black, was the design you tested just the "single" batmo and not the new double?

Imo, I'd figure that bep would want to clear all this up with all the bad pub they are getting on the forums. There so called "challenge" is put up only to benefit them from what i understand. If they are so sure of there product, test it straight up at a different shop that is not pro bullseye. I'm no turbo expert by any means, but if this is being watched on here and cf as much as i am, and somewhat understand these threads they would see that this "challenge" is only going to benefit bullseye. Just my .02

Since my name and experience has been brought up. Bullseye was also the only company out of some of the other turbo builders that everyone respects so much that actually built and sent me a turbo. I waited, and waited always hearing about testing this design, or testing that design, and most of the other turbos were almost double what I paid at the time. I know many people have had issues with bullseye since then, but I'm not sold on the fact that all these other people get a pass. I was able to perform at a high enough level to win $25k, and it wasn't because I waited around for someone to sprinkle their magic pixie dust on a turbo. Bullseye came down there and asked me to try it, and I was impressed. Others like Bruce Block are pretty happy with their turbo as well. Maybe some of these other builders should offer some type of test or comparison to level the playing field.

It might have been covered already, but where did Borg Warner originally post this at?

I know I'm not the only one who has posted this on the various forms. But I received the results directly from the BorgWarner engineer who conducted the test.

As I've mentioned previously, I'm a BorgWarner distributor.

So on the next pass after the swap it runs a 11.0x then it ran a 10.90?? Did bullseye swap another turbo on?

Yeah I've heard that a few times. Why did Borg Warner pick you above all others for this test!? And why haven't you became a paying sponsor/vendor, since you wanna promote your turbo's?

so was the Bat-Mo a true 66mm or a 75mm clipped to a 66mm?
