Calling Chris Watson

Just thinking of all those people at the comp D party at the Sahara during SEMA snickering and looking at our table because Chris and Jeremy were committing sins against the commonrail gods are now standing there with their jaws dropped going HOLY CHIT......

wtf how can you call that a duramax? Its not. Its a one-off custom built 6.6 liter V8 turbo diesel.

Cool I guess for the gee-whiz factor, but its not a duramax.

Its still a damn duramax. The engines main frame is the D-Max block, heads and platform with an alternate fuel system. No different then a P-pumped PSD is still a PSD or a Sigma pumped Cummins is still a Cummins. Just because you switch the injection system doesnt mean that its not what it once was.

You know Benjamin, I thought the GM fans would appreciate someone finally building a truck of this caliber but I guess i'll just have to do it because I want to do something different. Thanks.

The block isn't Duramax, and I'd be surprised if the heads are. I wonder how many parts, if any, actually are Duramax. What's the purpose of mechanical injection? Why not just beef up the common rail system if you don't have enough fuel?

Really? Are you really asking? Seriously? Really?

I thought the only thing that said Duramax on it was the badge? I guess he lost the Duramax quality a LONG time ago. Or does an engine cover say it or something? Hm weird. Most of the Dodge guys think it's cool yet the bowties are depressed because it's a mechanical pump.

This should be awsome, cant wait to see it on the track....FWIW I wish I had a big mechanical pump

I think it's cool going to bring some competition to the area moslty dominated by Cummins. Theres only one Powerstroke. You and Clint Cannon are the only ones I can think of that are building a DMAX for the Mod class. But clint is sticking with Common Rail technology from what I heard,

Who said it was still 6.6L? Are you saying the Chevy fans won't want to claim this?

I'm a GM fan, I'll claim the hell out of that thing!! Can't wait to see it perform, don't let the naysayers get you down. I think it's badass.

Yeah I guess I should have read that a little better but guess I was in a hurry. Chris glad you are doing it and hope you spank ass out there with it.:rockwoot:

There are others.

There are others.

What DMAX or just other motors in progress. Here what I have heard Clint is building one. Theres a P Pump 6.7 mod coming out. Rumors of another P Pump Powerstroke. Now if you are talking total different engines like 8V Detroits. and DT466 in trucks thn yes there are other Mod trucks competing in Mod class. Unless you know of some I don't

the block is a stock Duramax casting, as are the heads.
And who's to say what pump that may or may have not been bolted to the engine.
Anyone here ever hear of mock up?

Of course we have. But I don't know of any Front Covers with Mechanical Injection for a Duramax floating around :what: Keep up the good work.

All real mod truck classes are limited to 1 ton or less truck motors, Tractor motors don't count.

Tractors motors will run in the Mod class to. BBD runs agains't a ford with a DT466 I believe so does Moonlight Diesel. Runs against trucks with 8V Detroits in them. Yeah rules say must be in a 1 ton truck but thers others out there that run in different Orgs.

Well I mean ofcourse you got your Fair Pulls but thers really some descent size Orgs that will run them all together. I don't think someone would put all that money in building a truck to run a couple of pulls here and there.
