Can we talk about triples?

Any sizes on those turbos? If those are 66mm's over something like an 80mm, its pretty pointless as the two smaller ones will flow the same or more as the big one, which means zero compression compounding, and a ton of lag.

I'd think something like 3 HX35's, two feeding one could be a cheap and effective setup.

The top turbos are much smaller than a 66. Not sure on the exact sizes but they are much smaller.

I think a 66mm manifold charger paired with a pair of 57-60mm chargers would have plenty of air for 1K. I have been pondering a valve like a throttle body in the exhaust so that you could get one primary lit, and then have it open up and add in the second one. As well as the normal external gate @ the manifold to control drive pressures.

Roachie, PM Diesel Tweaker about this topic he may be able to fill you in:rockwoot:

seen a durmax in this months diesel power mag that had a super charger in front of its factory turbo charger, so what if you had the super charger feeding lets say a ats 4000 into a ats 6000 i think it would work i mean its the same setup sort of speak only you added a sendory charger before it hits your intercooler, then again it could just be a waste of 12 grand

Thats 3 stages you would have to have both the 4000 and 6000 feeding into the super charger at the same time, not each other

here you go Roachie, you can get two hy35's to fit with a large primary under them

there's a compD member with a triple-charged d-max-

Would 3 chargers of the same size and MAP work? Assuming you used an external gate around the secondary and kept the exhaust housing tight?

For simplicty on the math say its a 1000hp on fuel.

3, 71mm turbos set up with small housings, like 14?

Ok. I let y'all in a little.
The first setup we are trying on our dmax setup will consist of two +/- 3.4 (88mm)atmosphere chargers, and a +/- 4.2 (106mm) manifold charger.

So the secondary is larger than the primaries.

And roughly 30% larger than one primary alone but, around 60% of their combined inlet size? (quick math, taking no account for flow rates)

So If I have this right you are having a manifold charger that is capable of in the RUFF neighbor hood of ~190lbs/min feeding "a primary" that can be moving ~280lbs/min. :ft:

Here I thought Roachie's idea of twin S480's was big. :bang

Thank you for providing that, it reaffirms that I was on the right track with sizing my own "tiny triples"

For the record, two hx35's flow more like one S475 or 98-100 lbs per minute.
