Gear?

What gear ratio? I am seriously out of rpm with a 28 inch tire on my vp truck and I can't see a 30 inch tire making that much difference.
 
You're most likely out of gear because of the tires and the edge cutting fuel around 3200. I feel like my truck could be faster but the trans won't shift before the truck defuels.
 
I understand that, but he is claiming a 30 in. tire going thru traps at 3300 rpm. I'm at 3200-3400 before truck shuts down and coasts with a 3:54 rear.. I'm at 94-95 mph in the 1/8 and trap 100 mph. Shuts down at 117-119 on GPS then it's like I hit the brakes cuz of converter being locked. His 1/8 th speed isn't much different and I am shutting down around 900 ft mark. Just doesn't add up in my head and we race a lot of stuff. Fuel bikes, sleds, TT LS truck, pro street bikes....... His 60 ft is better, but the rule is for every tenth you reduce your 60 ft by, your et should drop about 2 tenths.

If you look at the gear calculators his numbers add up. 30" tire, ~3300 rpm, 2.45 final drive(OD and 3.54 rear), all calculates to about 119mph.

I run a 32" tire and cross the traps around 3100rpm @ 119mph

If you go to the HP calc at the top of the page and use the tire diameter and gear ratio calculator you will see that @ 3,000rpm a 30" tire shows a mph of 109.78 and a 28" tire shows a mph of 102.45. Thats a significant difference id say.
 
Like he said the numbers don't lie. What I don't understand is why your truck is shutting down so hard. Do you not have the drag comp / hot unlock? Being p-pumped I'm still fueling hard at 3300rpm with 4k gsk. Last year the truck still had 4.10s in it and trapped 114 mph which was around 3700rpm. The truck pulls a lot harder on the 3.54s. As far as the 60ft I'm leaving the line at 3000-3200rpm and +-30 psi.

So your going from 94.4 @ 660ft to 119 @ 900ft?!?! That would be you picking up my entire back half in 240ft that would be a hell of a back half even on spray. Fwiw from my past experience GPS runs 2mph fast.

Taylor, see the bolded part above. This is what he was talking about. He said it shut down at 117mph and at 900ft. That would mean he picks up a rediculous amount of mph from the 1/8 to the 900' mark. Something isnt right about that
 
I've been thinking that the whole time. Matty's has the fastest VP truck I've ever heard of running a silver 64, and its fuel only. I'm pretty close to him at the 1/8th, but he destroys me on the back half!

What he said. He's saying he's coasting at 1000ft.

Also I don't understand how coasting with the convertor locked is similar to "hitting the brakes" cause mine sure dosnt slow down like that when I lift. In fact I turn the OD back off with the TC locked to help me slow down.

I have 410's... Trap exactly the same thing almost all the time 118 mph...3600rpms, and a 305/50/20...
 
When I had 28" slicks, smaller turbo (64) and SOVP I trapped 108-109 consistently. I've only gained 3 mph since then and it sucks!
 
Last year this truck ran 11.42 @114 at this same race. Since then all i have done is change to 3.54s and bump the timing 2.5*
