Has anyone ever had their engine lock up on them?

I'll toss in my bet for the $20.

A particle got into the oil cooling nozzles that spray onto the pistons. The heat buildup caused the piston to seize to the wall.

You will pull the head and find 1 piston in particular that looks to be in worse shape than the others. :(

Just my guess.

We will be pulling his truck apart tomorrow around lunch... Lance doesnt get on here much during the weekend.. Pics will up be tomorrow evening..

I would go, however in Baghdad, Iraq right now. Got the truck done 2 months before I deployed. Killing me missing all these events. Buda was fun last year.

Well? Whats the word? What did you find? I guessing #6 cylinder.

The number two rod bearing spun and stacked on top of each other.. The rest of the rod bearings from #2 on back were galded.. #1 rod bearing was in good shape.. The main bearings, and cylinder walls were all in good shape... Lance will be on tonight with pics... Now the question is... Should we short block it, or rebuildit??? HMMMMM..

short block it for sure if you want to get the thing running soon.

Like wesley said above it was the #2 rod bearings that had stacked on top of each other that caused her to lock up. All the rest from #2 back were pretty bad..... it is weird because they just had little pits in it.... almost like when #2 started screwin up.... it spread the little pieces of bearing material to all the others. #1 bearings were good. ALL of the mains look awesome.

Before pics go up.... can someone tell me how to insert images into a post.
