Hit the 03/04 HP wall

We saw some very interesting things in regards to injector sizing as well. The future looks very bright, but I will let Bob and Marco reveal what they want in due time. All I can say is Get Excited. I will be doing some more testing of a stupid big injector/pump combo next week to see just how flexible the Smarty is.

hopefully erick posts his finding with marco and bob all i can say is...some people might like the news and some wont!? ill let him tell you!

How big is stupid big?

I'm not getting excited but i am waiting.

Maybe if I offer up my truck and a dyno I can get a visit from the tuning fairy? LOL

Erick so what ended up happening with all the trucks that attended? Was Marco able to make substantial improvements? It seems on the 07 truck the limiting factor was not electronics.

I can't believe the extent you guys will go to infer what's going on instead of just putting a scope on the truck and Verifying your pw and timing. Then you can see if the load percentage is doing anything, and if so, what it's doing.

Somebody find an ossccilloscope, or pay some EE geek to scope your truck for you. It seems completely insane to me that nobody has scoped the trucks to view what's happening.

You can't very well fix something until you know exactly what's broke, except by blind luck of course.

Thanks Charles, that idea completely skipped my mind.

Sarcasm?

If so, what kinds of pw drops did you see when you scoped a truck with vs one without the issue? Or timing?

If not, hop to it and stop dancing around the problem.

If for one second I thought I had a timing/pw issue I would have a scope on it within the hour. I have a dedicated connector on my engine harness now where I clip in a sub-harness specifically for the scope that runs through the firewall and to the middle seat. Sit the scope in the passenger's seat and a couple minutes later, the truth is known.

I try to keep simple things simple by not adding my own variables or beating around the bush. I've just been reading about this stuff with the CR guys for what seems like years now and am just totally shocked that after all this time it's still a freakin mystery, and nobody seems to be able to provide DATA to support any kind of explanation. That was why I suggested that a timing/pw gauge be made.

For instance, if I were Beaner, I would almost half to know what happened to timing/pw to gain 300ish hp. Not what the scanner said, but what really happened.

Somebody's gotta have a scope.

Charles, say we get this info..then what?

I don't believe he was referring to the individual consumer, more so towards the people that have the ability to tune.

OK, so basic news...The tuning in the box is pretty darned spot on for most everyone. We found and corrected a slight timing dip in the 04.5 trucks, also found a difference in POD behavior for 03/04 trucks vs. 04.5 trucks, so I assume Marco will have an update for that shortly.

Shane's Bertha and some 300's. Will be trying the pump tomorrow to see if its even streetable, then some dyno time, then the nozzles and some tuning with Marco. Want to see if we can make a tune that is pretty smokeless and decent on the street

Don't look like it will get there before Wednesday, It wasn't sent out the door when it was suppose to go.

No worries, wife is headed out of town Wed Morning anyway, so Wed night looks good. Hard to do stuff when the shop is busy, so night time will work for me.. I will be playing with it all weekend; Installing some 625s also. I have a 66 here to mess with when we run out of air.
