I'll be danged. I was told the opposite is true. O well, I've found both for the same price so I don't guess it matters. Chevy or GMC. :D

well thats what i was told by LBDP Nick and Ryan they put a sbc dd in one of the iowa guys truck and installed the valair hydros so thats the route i will prolly go once i get my pressure plate fixed

The unit I put in two months ago from SBC did not look welded to me, if it was indeed welded they did a great job with the machine work finishing it.

Every SBC hydro unit I've put in was not welded. Something like a newer master cylinder, with an older slave...both of them are the biggest available in Dodge's.

I think the facts were swapped, but until I get one, I can't validate. Tell Nick and Ryan they are full of chit. :hehe: Dayum yankees. LOL

i thinking it cam out of nicks mouth when i was at ts who knows with him you should have seen nick when the fass 6.7 truck pull he started goin on about airdogs but then the driver came over and sat right beside us and he didnt say another word. guess ill have to watch this thread and figure out which hydros to get me and ryan are putting a new pressure plate in m truck next weekend hope that fixes my problems

slap him for me too, our rods are not welded. i dont believe any of the rod's from either of the names mentioned are welded, we use to do it that way when we first got to doing them, but we use billet machined rod's now.
Our kit's are made from a OEM 97 ram stock hydrualic kit with a coupler and a steel braided line from the coupler down, i have never seen a unit come back for a leak at the coupler, the biggest reason for defect is not getting it in the firewall tight, and coming out breaking the tabs off, there are some differences in the bracket's and some units used a thick rubber washer and some used a thin, where the master cylinder goes into the firewall, our kit's now come with both the thick and the thin washer. it probably would be better to ask the supplier instead of Nick. LOL

nick was the one telling me to buy the valair hydrualics since they were better honestly i doesnt matter to me which ones i get as long as they work. the hydrualics on my truck are stock and it was loose i tightened mine up i got the bottom one tight does anyone have a trick to tightening the top nut cause its hard as hell to get to. sometimes think that nick needs more that just slapped but doubt it will do any good

paitence and some sweat, i usually dont take the bracket out of the dash. and your right about Nick.

Thanks for your post Valair1 (Dan I think). I appreciate it. We'll just slap him for being North of the Kansas line (yankee). :hehe:

i have to hear it from him that i live right by missouri but i was always told no one should live above 1-80 its a barren wasteland

i have never heard of a problem from either companies hydros just the stock unit is all, and i bet either way you go if there is a problem dan or peter will take care of you.

I am going to just flip a coin, and buy one. Either way will have to be better than what I have. lol

I have a question. I'm not trying to discredit anyone, I'm asking stricktly for my knowledge. I understand that if you upgrade the clutch in these trucks the hydraulics must also be upgraded. But if these "heavy duty" hydo kits are using stock componants, with a machined adjustable rod, what is the real need for the upgrade? I was origenally under the impression that the extra spring force in the upgraded pressure plates would blow seals in the master or slave cylinder. Is this not the case? Is the only reason for the upgrade to gain adjustability? Once again, not tyring to rag on anyone, just trying to figure out why you would ever need t upgrade the hydros. Thanks.

The stock unit uses a plastic line, that line can swell/stretch and take some of the effort you are putting on the pedal to extend the slave cylinder and make it wasted. YOu are also getting the two best years of slave/master cylinders.

the 94-97 dodge sytems were the largest cylinders of all, the later models have much smaller cylinders and if you have a 06 and up even smaller. you could go by your own and make it, but i doubt you could get it for the same price we do alot of volume and order large quanitys, not to mention the billet adjustable rod, or steel braided line we use.
