lets talk clutches

Kman is the weighted triple streetable at all, not meaning driving to the store just an ocassional playin on the street. I heard they are hard to shift over 2,000 rpm's. This is what i am getting ready to but just wondering.

clutches

EEP all the way put 40+ hooks on it a year plus drove it to every pull and home too! If anyone seen me hook they could watch how to thrash on a clutch too!

Yes they can be streetable.

Crower 3 disk pedal clutch is what we run in our team's pro mod car. It isn't too bad to keep on top of, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a dedicated puller.

Otherwise, for a street/dd/puller, I used a south bend DDSP3850CB (dual disk, 3850 plate load, sprung hub, 12 buttons). Held 800hp, 5th gear launch, on loose sandy tracks. Was really quiet, and not bad on the street at all.

For street i have to say SBC peter took great care of me even though i abused my clutch. Hardcore.

I cant complain about south bend since they have treated me real good but it seems like my clutch didnt last as long as I would have liked it to. I slipped my 3850 1 good time and pretty much ruined the whole thing except for maybe the flywheel and pressure plate. Anybody have any thoughts on putting different discs in a southbend?

Our crew has had really good results with Valair. Their customer service and prices are excellent.

So what does a diesel glide Crower cost? as compared to the other clutches out there.

Just curious, PM me if necessary.

I just installed a Southbend 3850 Iron Giant with Sintered iron discs in my truck & so far I am very impressed! It now has 700 miles on it & seems to be getting smoother. I think this clutch should raise the bar on reliability since the entire disc is now absorbing the heat rather than the small pads. I can't wait to hook this clutch.

Pretty sure everyone else has been doing this for years...

i have run eep's dd for awhile alot of street miles, hooks, and 1/4 mile abuse with no issues imo the best all around clutch

x2.....im signed up for a nodular spring hub dual disc as soon as Dan is ready to sell them. LOTS of Valair clutches in College Station....

I didn't mean that it was the cool new thing, just saying that the sintered disc should make the sbc last alot longer.LOL

Oh ok yeah the iron clutches last alot longer to heat then the Ceramic feramic crap does. I even think they do better daily driving too but thats just me.
