just saw this thread this is a great idea, it will be nice to have all the local pulls with the same rules for once, i like the buck and will continue pulling there this year. but this it a giant leap for us in the right direction, i will try to be a the meeting good job to the you all for putting this together.

thanks scott, the chairmen have put alot of time and thought in this. We hope it will be a success and increase the intrest of the sport in the region.

look forward to seeing you saturday.

well ive changed my plans and im coming home from school this weekend im gonna try to make it to the meeting.

I dont know why this thread is all about the buck now. The buck is a different organization with different rules and a different points system. It seems to me that this association is just trying to keep the interest in all the other great places we have to pull around here and give back to the pullers. Willy created this thread to get everyones opinion on what they would like see happen for rules. Theres no call for the bad mouthing of this organization. If you want to pull at the buck pull there if you want to pull with these guys pull with them. Hell you can even pull with both because they were kind enough to set up the schedule so you could. I do want to say is this association is trying to accomadate the pullers and i like that because we put a lot of money and hard work into our trucks and without us the pullers there will be no pulls.

thanks
nick

if i dont make it all i would want to say is that the whole point of the org is to to keep interest in the sport and it is hard when rules change every year and esp. from hook to hook.
cotpc is the first set of rules ive seen that will work yet. it sounds like leb and mason dixon want to do a 2.6 and 3.0 but they are not being picky about protursion. watch some videos from last year in ohio with guys running stepped covers and bushings without protrusion those guys could hang with our local 3.0 guys bc without protrusion you can run chargers bigger than 3.0, with protusion (turbos that are cut to fit in bore $150) a 3.0 charger is the limit bigger ones cant take it.

in the end i like your guys idea for bigger than 2.6 its basically rwyb that will work for us for a while till there is more trucks to see what other classes can be broke down. leb and mason dixons 2.6 and 3.0 oem driveline will be the same thing we could all sign up for both swap out bushings and be + or - 50 to 100 horse if they would do protrusion youll see bigger horsepower differences.

this is just my input just one guy flapping off so i could be totally wrong but i have a boat load of hours studying the ohio guys that finally got there $hit together

Just my opinion but this being a start up org with new classes and tech officials that are new, its in their best interest to stay away from that train wreck of a rules package(cotpc). But thats just me. Easy and simple till it starts getting out of hand

its all the same ppl and its gonna be all the same techs. seriously lets cut to the chase, ohhh look i can see the corner of the blades on that turbo, ohh wait i cant on that one they are behind a bushing. now i realize that there is more tricks but that is basically the gist to get started.

the first couple of pulls the tech will just have to have the rule book on hand then they will start to catch on and if they need help im sure some of us that know what is going on will be more than glad to help

There is alot more to it then "oh i can see the ends of the blades". Bushings are simple and easy to tech. Go read the 400+ posts in the staging lanes if you want to see how cut a dry it is. Protrusion isnt as big a hp killer as you think

The statement that anything bigger than 3.0 can't handle protrusion is incorrect.

I agree with what denson said. cotp rule package is a grease fire with all the *****ing and fighting and the loopholes and what's interpreted as legal or not. You don't have to take my word for it, just go read some of their threads.

where do you see s480 and above cut down to a 2.6 there is a reason wesley wade went to billet s475 cut to a 2.6 and not a billet s480 cut to a 2.6 i know that you can proturde above above 3.0 like a 3.2 to a 3.0 or a 3.2 to 2.8 but not all the way down to a 2.6 im sure somebody is working on it tho

im aware that there is more to it and ive read trust me but the protursion does put a limit on the class more than a bushing thats been proven. im gonna pull there either way just trying to make it feasible for the up and comers.
