No more stack vibrating...

Good for you TJ!! $250 is just hilarious. You mind if I post some of the CAD parts I've drawn up and cut in the last 9 months? I'd like to make sure that I'm not going to get someone crying and moaning when I roll out my ride with my parts on them.

Ok I bought my clamp at Peterbuilt for around 50 bucks and it's chrome and looks really good. But if there is another clamp on the market that will keep by back window from rattling I would gladly look into buying something like that.

a clamp isn't going to keep your back window from making your eardrums bleed, sorry :(

Now that is rediculous the only people who can do that are the ones who thought of it first shame on you:hehe::hehe::hehe:

*disclaimer* I am NOT a mech engineer by trade. I learned Solidworks the hard way; kicking and screaming models into submission.

Here are the models:

looks good ............i guess even though you drew up the plans for it its still a copy cat. LOL

Two of those aren't out of production yet. There's quite a few people running one of those 5 designs without even knowing it came from a hack like me. :hehe:

I'll say this one time and have already talked to getblown about it. You guys just don't get it.

For one, yes the Staxx clamp was the first of it's design. That's not the point. The point is....

It's one thing to copy a design but, to come here and say.... ha ha ha, look what I did by copying someones design is pretty rude IMO. I can't blame him after getting torn into by another member though.

Now, if he would have said.... man, the Staxx clamp design was so nice, I wanted to try and make my own...what do you think ?

Instead, it was like all of you are saying.... ha ha ha the original is a joke and I didn't have to pay the guy that designed them his ridiculous asking price. Believe it or not, the asking price for them isn't that far off base.

IMO, that's very rude and you guy us are just a bunch of cheap asses. Sure saving money is great but credit should be given where credit is due ! Not gloating about a copied design. I'd be the first to step up and say how nice something is if, it was a original design.

Great example.... I'm sure you guys wouldn't think these inserts are worth $115. Well, when you have a one off design... production costs a bit more. I had to have 10 of these made to pay $110 a piece. I sell them for $115 to at least make 5 for myself.

The Staxx clamp is no different. There's not a huge production of them so the ones that do get produces will cost a bit more.... period.

All of you also know damn well that if there was a patent on the clamp, he'd have a problem. For those that haven't seen a Staxx clamp.... there's designs are very close... enough to have a problem if paperwork was filed...

I think getblown did a very good job. I only thought the way he went about showing what he did was wrong and I'm entitled to my opinion.

<-- is a rude cheap ass and proud as hell of it. not hurting my feelings any, my clamp is on and its not coming off

if my original thread hadn't been brought up months after i posted it by 66cummins whining about it, i prolly would have posted the pics without saying much, but since someone had to cry about it before I'm gonna flaunt it. if you dont like it, don't click on my thread (thats to anyone in general, not just to you triton).

as for patent issues...i made ONE ****ING CLAMP. i wanted it and i got it and i saved money because i had it done using the resources available to me. im not putting them into production to compete with the other guy. if people still have a problem there is a box of tissues in the back for you.

Looks great. And pretty sure the clamps have differences so there would be no issue IF they were to try to say anything.
And Triton sorry all of us cheap asses don't have the money you do to pay the ridiculous prices for most items and decide to make them ourselves. Guess we are all just below you:umno:

Nice Clamp TJ, that looks like another clamp I have seen but man it sure is different. :) Good job on making something and not spending a ton of money to do it.

ill buy one from ya in 6''. i like it. plain enuff yet functional..like my truk...pm me a price and get busy

Like I said, I am not out to make money or take away business from anyone else. I made one for myself and thats it.

Hey TJ what kind of clamp did you have on before that vibrated so much? Just wondering cuz im fixin to put a single stack in my truck.

before i had a piece of 3x3 angle bolted to the top of the bed pointing down, with a 7" band clamp going around that angle and the clamp. it always had a slight vibration to it because it wasnt very solid.

the peterbilt clamps someone posted are a nice option too

most certainly not worth $115 to me... maybe if my grandmother was wanting to trick out her china cabinet or something...
