Scheids rules...

Just seeing if I am the only one that thinks thats weird. Maybe you guys missed the part on where I said I WANT to hook here. Great pull blah blah blah... Why don't you mods go find another thread to turn into an arguement or something. I was just getting others opinions. Ill still be there but without the truck cause I can't meet the rules. LIKE I ALREADY SAID, just think the rules should be looked at. I guess thats not what this site is for. Competitors opinions/feedback?? Do explain ole mighty moderators on what this site is to be used for? Its seems as though you guys screw threads up more than the average guy lately. How/why did you turn this thread into something of the sort? Did I forget to put a smiley in or something? So never mind SLED PULLERS (that will exclude the mods), it doesn't matter what our opinions are to possibly help the sport or the biggest event of the year. Just keep to yourself and let the mods figure it all out.

I didn't miss a dang thing Anthony. If your original intent was to start a discussion about looking at the rules, that is fine... You threw the thread in the crapper when you took a jab at a moderator who had not even commented on the thread. The blood is on your hands here chief. You drug the mods into the fray. They didn't show up because they give a damn about your opinion.

Anthony, maybe you should get out of pulling and start hopscotch. I think you will find the rules more to your liking there.

Maybe you over looked this little comment huh Timbeaux. My INTENTIONS on this thread whether you feel it was or not. Was to see how the other pullers felt about the rules for this year. Said how I thought rules should go and that was all. Was watching for others opinions. Curious to see if I was the only one thinking like this. I wasn't complaining at all mr. moderators. Like I said if i could meet the rules I would go. But I can't so I will just have to spectate. If I still had the 2.8 charger on I would go run super street cause of the experience. I could care less to win or lose. There is always something bigger and badder out there. How bout you guys as "mods" go back and delete right where Dalpilot started and leave the thread on track. Cause nobody had a problem with it until the "mods" smarted off. Even yourself was fine with it there Timbeaux. You commented earlier in the thread.

Havent the rules been like this for several years? What good does it do to keeping to complain about them? As far as I can remember a 2.6 truck that runs that class all the time has won SDX the past couple of years (Wesley, Shriver). Bushed Auroras 5ks were in Work stock two years ago. It didn't win. Whats your deal?

If you could send my assistant UNBROKEN in I'm sure he can get everything straight. He's the man:umno:

Prior to Tim's comment should have been ignored? Your argument is laughable. To quote Lil' John: "Don't start no stuff, won't be no stuff."

Fair enough?

My comments were not meant to derail the thread. I genuinely mis-read what you were trying to convey.

Had this been the first time, not the 200th time that you made a comment, posted a thread, or started an internet fight over rules that you cannot or are unwilling to comply with, that would be different. There is what is called history Anthony, you can't seem to get the fact that when you continually have the same "argument", over the same topic, but at a different venue, it doesn't lend credibility to the "I'm just looking for feedback from members" theory you seem to espuse. My post about you joining the local hopscotch league was based upon the fact that you, far more than most, want the rules made to always make it easier for you to pull. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. No where did I miss any of your comments, and quite frankly its getting tiresome to always listen to your b!tchin about how things should be. When you start 2tone12v pulling association make them how you want.

Your history here makes it far easier to believe that you started this thread to get a reaction and start internet drama, than to get "user feedback". Your dragging Richard into the thread for no reason only lends a hand to confirm my suspicions on your intent. And like you I don't give a damn if you like it or not.

Finally to answer your questions, Comp D was made for serious pullers, racers, and HP junkies, not for people who want everyone to adapt the rules so that they can play too. In closing Comp D doesn't give a chit how you want the rules to be.

Okay guys, I think we got our point across.

Anthony, the guys and myself will leave your thread alone assuming you stay out of our collective asses and discuss the finer points of bushed chargers and stepped covers or whatever....

So I did forget my smiley. :poke: That better

Oh boy, another one of you. Bandwagon! You know the chargers everyone runs? Cause I don't think you do. Your missing the whole point man. So get off the bashing mood or whatever. Lets chat what do the sled pullers think is the best for the classes. Cause 3.2 and 3.0 chargers bushed down to a 2.6 just doesn't make sense when 2 classed higher can't even run them any bigger than a 3.0.

Thats where you don't get it. Ill gladly pull my truck with the 2.8 charger on it but I'm in the middle of a swap. If I'm legal Ill pull, under turbo'd or not. I don't care. I'm not talking about ME at all in this other than saying I can't make the rules. I'm saying for sled pulling ALL AROUND, FOR EVERYONE these weird/strange rules are making it harder and harder to have a good event. No doubt Scheids will be good. I'm just saying I (my opinion) think with some changes it can fit everyone or lots more is all. I want events to get back the way they were a few years ago. Indy, gone... TS well... I wish all these things would get on the same page here so we the competitors can fit in with MOST pulls. Anymore it seems you pick one pull to go to each year. If you want more than that you have lots of money to spend and plenty of work to do changing it over. But away from that. Its just simply crazy to think the "street diesel" or 2.6 runs bigger chargers than the Super Street class does.

So, I am assuming you are leaning toward a Teching fashion that would require the compressor cover to be pulled?

I'm just saying 2.6, bushings or not can run bigger chargers than the biggest and baddest trucks in the nation. If you allow bushings in basically every class. Why exclude the one where the bushings would be most popular or used? Me personally think 2.6 needs to be a non bushed class where the compressor wheel enters the inducer. I think that will help draw some more "street" trucks. Cause hats off to you 2.6 guys. Nobody is gonna walk in and just take a win in a 2.6 class anymore. Those trucks are dedicated pullers.

I won't be at Schieds so I really don't care what the rules are, but I agree that it's seems funny. Bigger chargers are allowed in the street class than in the 3.0" class.

I'd compare it to allowing open driveline in the street class but requiring OEM driveline in the 3.0" class. Just doesn't make sense...

Not to sound like a retard , but what is the turbo rule in the super street class. I pulled nadm before with a single and they never looked or does schied have different rules

But if they are slugged, does it matter? You can only move so much air through a given hole, right? I can't believe I'm saying this, but you do kinda have a point. If you can slug a 3.0 down to a 2.6 and the 3.0 not have any advantage for the bigger charger, I don't see the harm in slugging bigger ones, but I don't make the rules, nor am I smart enough to understand why they are written the way they are written in some instances.

I totally get it, but it doesn't change anything. I understand completely how YOU want it, but the fact is the sport is "Progressing" and the rules are being written to fit today's needs, not yesterdays, or the needs of what a few folks might desire. The fact that I am not qualified to race against NHRA Nitro methane funnycars doesn't mean I should be allowed to run there just because I want to. (actually without a really good push and a stiff tailwind, I can't run against a kids tricycle currently :bang yet I digress LOL). I can't pass that tech, so therefore I don't belong. That's the way I see it.

In the tractor classes with, let's just say a 3x3 turbo rule, do the measure the cover/housing opening or the wheels? Unless they nafta get their charger teched and tagged, I'm guessing it's just a plug test like the trucks? And to limit them, they put a restriction on the turbine side as well as the comp side hence the x-by-x rule.

Should the truck classes head towards that (having a hot side limit also) to keep the radical chargers at bay a bit yet still have relatively easy teching ( though it won't be easy to tech the exducer, at least not on a Dmax)?

The best would be to set some rule and require the charger be teched n tagged prior to being able to hook. That would work more for a points series rather than unsanctioned national pulls though. These national pulls just need to get on boardwith more standardized rules for all classes IMO.

It's a tough subject because theres no answer that's easy for everyone while keeps the spirit of the class where it's supposed to be.
