School me on TDI's......

Random question.

I posted a yt vid about my "limp mode" issue that I still have. (I know there are many many possible causes, and I've done some but not all)

One person replied and said, " Repair all the cold joints in the ECU"

I've heard something about it before. What is it and where can I have it repaired / looked into?

Cold solder joints I'm assuming. VW had a problem on many cars with these going out but usually they were the previous gen.

Thanks!

If anyone is on any of the TDI forums and can find a TDI specialist in the Atlanta metro area (that's willing to do work on the side), please get and PM their info.

I'm tired of missing with it. It's such a random thing. I Just wanna pass it off and get it back fixed.

Thanks again.

Going to call and try to make contact next week.
Maybe I can finally get this things to stop limping and get a tune to boot!

Then I'll just want to keep modding from there on I'm sure.

Hey there, JFettig told me to reply, happy to help you out, we don't service like oil changes here but we tune TDIs through 2014, there's a dynojet in the building, we're a Garrett dealer ++

I'm sure we can get you out of limp mode cheap and fast, we're in Dallas, GA.

Thanks!!

WTH was wrong with it!?!??!?

Probably just vaccum lines, dirty turbo, or something...

The expensive part came when I said "Fuggit" and left the car there to have a some stuff done:

Garret VNT 17 turbo
SB stage 2 endurance clutch (new seals, rear main, fork, pin, stretch bolts)
Malone Stage 4 tune
New vac lines
New race EGR pipe to replace my cracked leaking stock one
PP764 Injectors (balanced and calibrated)
Braided steel oil feed line
3bar MAP sensor
Boost pipe adaptor

So.... THAT'S why is was expensive.. LOL

"Swoles back with brand new invention" in my best Vanilla Ice rap voice. LOL

Hope to be smiling by Sat. Afternoon with 155-170 WHP :)
