sdx comp delivery valve vs?

It's not "normal", it sounds as though one may be not sealing entirely, or there is another issue which was pronounced by the change since you said it was a bit rough before.

I see. Yea it was a bit rough before, seems like it misses a little. I think I have some other issue, have no clue what it is though. I did have to raise the idle a little after I put them in. They're more responsive and the smoke isn't too bad, so I'm pretty happy with them.

Yeah 7mm DVs don't idle too well on our P-pumps..
Not only do they idle rough and low, but on automatics, they drop in RPM more when you put the thing in gear.

That's why I only think they're good for manual trans trucks.
I hated the 035's (7mm 024's) when I had them in, for that reason.

I have found this to be the case with the 80cc versions Weston has sent me which have a shortened shoulder but retain a very tight seal with the delivery valve seat.

The full out competition 7mm delivery valve which has the entire shoulder turned down in diameter and are rated at 120cc do not suffer the same idle down characteristic. They comps are a bit rougher idling though.

I had to raise my idle a little, but it think its worth it for a more responsive truck.

My idle is still the same, just a little higher.

Inherent drawback, increasing the idle will most likely be required. This is something we must compromise on to move less fuel at lower rack travel yet increase fuel at full rack travel, giving us a wider range.

Those of you with 7mm 100cc+ comps, how's the smoke and egts at wot? I'm lovin these dv's, great power, but at wot 55 psi boost it still smokes like crazy and egts are 1800+ What can I do? Different injectors? More timing? I think the timing is around 18-20. I woulda thought this billet 66 could clean it up though.

Mine still smokes some @ WOT,7mm Smokem DV, but that has some to do with my current injectors though. We'll see once I get 5x.016 with correct 145* nozzles though.

All sounds normal to me. I have a set but have not had a turbo to put back on the truck since installing so no comment on anything about them. I have tried 70cc versions and 130cc versions. The Batmowheel 75 could not clean up the 70cc versions at 70ish psi so I don't suspect that 66 will come close to cleaning even more fuel.

Well this kinda sucks. So pretty much a single turbo aint gonna clean up these comps or what? I could put a plate back in but I think I'd lose power. I just hate blacking out the road every time I go wot.

Does anyone else have .020 SDX delivery valves? Mine slobber fuel just cruising. and no they aren't comps from what I have been told.

To the best of my knowledge SDX never sold an "0.020" delivery valve.

I bought theses from Michael Albertson, who got the truck from Tyler on here and that's what has been passed down. I have no idea if they are actually SDX valves. They fuel hard but not very clean at mid range rpm with no boost. Yes I have checked and fixed boost leaks.

Ok, I'm thinking these 7 hole injectors might not be working well with my setup. I want to try some 5 hole 145*, maybe 5x16 or 5x18? Any input?

Is your sig accurate??

If so, you have a chit-ton of timing, with small injectors.. but a big turbo.. the DV's (whatever they actually *are* since what you were told wasn't 100% accurate) can't be making up the difference between 5x12's and a 66/74.

You probably need some 5x16's to spool the turbo better in the cruising (low-boost) range...

I know my 5x14's run cleaner than my 5x12's on this same turbo.. they spool it better. So cruising MPG's are up.

Your 26º timing shifts the powerband up a bit in the RPM's too, so maybe you're cruising below the RPM's where it makes decent power.

Try and pop out a DV sometime and figure out what you actually have.
