sdx comp delivery valve vs?

I had my last pump flowed on the stand with 181's, 024's, and comps. Using 181's as a baseline, 024's flowed + 50cc at 13.8mm of rack, + 30cc at 17mm, and +60cc at 21mm. Comps flowed +110cc at 13.8, +100cc at 17mm, and +100cc at 21mm. Smoke wasn't much different between the comps and the 024's. They can be beneficial under the right circumstances, but listen to Smokem. If he doesn't think they are the right approach, pay attention or you may pay for a mistake.$.02

Just for reference Ron, this was one of your 12mm pumps and not your 13mm??? Any chance you have data on 131's?? Somehow I doubt you would bother with 131's though. LOL

That was off of his 13mm pump if I recall.

Thanks for the input guys. Maybe I should try the .024's and see what happens. I just dont want to come short on fuel. I would like to see 55 to 60 psi from this turbo.

i have tried a few sets of dv's also. with 191's as my go to dv's, O22's made 3hp more, 024's made 12hp less, while in a different combo with twins and such comps made 62hp more but made noticeably more smoke in almost all cases. those injectors are going to be you biggest holdback..

I personally think the 024's or the Comps are capable of delivering enough fuel to blow up that 63mm turbo. Either one will sufficient to max out your setup and beyond.

The real question is what do you want to buy?

I run 024's in my Drag Truck, they clean up well.

Well, I really want to buy comps, but I'm kinda getting different opinions. Right now it cleans up at WOT, boost is only 45psi, egts are in check. I think it could use a lot more fuel. And for some reason I kinda want to go overkillLOL
I have been reading up on dv's for the past few hours and there were a few guys running comps with 64mm turbos and they liked them. I'd rather get just one set of dv's and be done and not have to switch em out again.

If I were to do it again, I would have bought a set of Comps.

That said, I have a set of full cuts sitting on the "to install" self and I haven't taken the time to install them because these 024's are still making more power than I can hook up with at the track.

Once again, not the best comparison but I dyno'd a while back with 024's at 10:28 am 71 deg F. 20% humidity and made 1066.74. Changed to Comps and ran on the same dyno(same day) at 11:54 am 79 deg F. and 11% humidity and made 1070.62hp. That's only 4hp.

Wow, thats not much difference. Why did it not change much with your setup?

What Ron is trying to give you an example of is; the additional fuel in cc's does not always equal a certain amount/increase in hp.

I don't know. I was running 17mm of rack travel at the time and the next trip to a dyno I ran 21mm of rack and 2 more degrees of timing with the comps and saw a good gain. They don't smoke any worse(almost seem like they smoke less) than 024's so I just left them in. Truck seems to run nice and smooth with them, but as i said, don't ignore Westons advice.

Ok, so basically my smaller injectors are gonna be a bottleneck and therefore comps wont gain anything over 024s?

Well even if comps dont gain anything over 024s, would there be any disadvantages running comps? That way if I ever go bigger the fuel is there. somebody correct me if i'm all mixed up.

You seem to be set on buying the comps so buy the comps.

Get a better injector seems to be what i'm picking up on. Don't matter how much fuel your putting out of the pump if you cant get it in the bowl effectively. Im looking forward to ditching my 7x.012s for something more efficient for my turd. $.02

Win! Makes or breaks enjoying the hell out of driving your truck or just kind of looking forward to it.

Well, I ordered comps:D I'm gonna try em with my 181 seats and these injectors for now. If I don't like the result then maybe I'll get some different injectors. But first I gotta fix my headgasket and put studs in.

Make sure you lap them good if your using a different seat than what they come with. It will make a difference.
