SMARTY DEFUELING ON 07''s ISSUE.

Hey triton what tune are you running and how do you have everything adjusted? I recentely swithchd to sw7 tq 4 timeing 2 rp 1 and it made my truck feal like a new truck as far as spool up and mid range power but I haven't got to realy pull it to 3500 yet.

Iam curious as to why you've seemed to get lucky and been able to make power above 3k. Just kinda wantin to get your ideas on this. Thanks in advance

On SW#8, RP#1, TM#1 & TQ#2 I can run low 12's all day long. There may be something to what mph you put the speed limiter to also ??? I set it at 250mph.

Other than that... I couldn't tell you why my truck is able to do it where others claim they can't. Maybe my tire size plays a part but, I'm only just getting out of third gear feet before crossing the line. I hold each gear through the 1/4 to 3200rpm's
 
Iam also running 37s but iam a 6spd with stock gears. Before my turbo and injectors I was midway through 5th at the stripe and that's shiftn at 3400 or so. Guess we will see this wknd. Guna race in a big diesel race at the local track then june 6th dyno again
 
with 3:73's on 37's, there's a lot of room left with gearing on the big end. Having a manual, you know you're only going to be so fast too. I believe the fastest anyone has run with a manual is around 12.6 and that's with some lightning fast shifts
 
Triton sorry for all the ?s but why do you run sw8? What size injectors are you running and are you stacking anything with the smarty.
 
Oh iam not trying to break any records on tge drad strip. I just like haven fun and showing I can still drive lol. I've run some 11.1s in a 6spd f body so I know about quick shifts

I was kinda feeling down on smarty until I changed to sw7 from 9. Its night and day.
 
Higher numbers don't necessarily mean higher hp. I've had my Smarty for over 2 yrs now. I've been through every SW that has come out. I've been running the TNT/R now for over a year and It's taken most of that time playing with different settings to find what works best. Every truck is going to be different in the way the SW works so, what works for me may not be what works for you. My injectors are around 180hp.
 
triton you said it, you have 373's and bigger tires, of course your not going to see any defueling in the quarter mile.its not like im pegging my rpm's at 3500 and getting defueled. how many times do i have to tell you the same thing, there's a bumch of people saying the same thing so comon.there's even a new thread in DTR by someone complaining of the same thing.oh and im not wasting any of my money either.and another thing PPE makes a 300 hp tune that crushes the smarty, and BD runs better on the 07's according to dodge thebullet's dyno sheet's where he went pull for pull, remember or no, he posted all the proof then got kicked off the site cause of it.i dont know maybe if i go to a 373 gear ill be able to cross the traps with no problem's.

my gearing and tire size have nothing to do with it. I manually shift the truck. IMO, if you're running 4:10's, you're hitting the power band and there is going to be no more.... different programmer or not.

I do know PPE makes some " custom " tunes that cost $500+ but, there's yet to be any proof of crushing anything. If you're listening to Wade about it over on CF...... LOL good luck with that !

Out of curiosity.... what are you expecting if you did have something better ? 11 flat ? I said it before... electronics will only get you so far, the rest is up to the elements and mods in your truck and how well you drive.

you've dynoed at 680hp, you've ran 11.8. To any one else, that's pretty damn good. At 680hp, you're not going to do much better. Electronics isn't going to net you another 100hp.

The Smarty software is free and you're just about demanding something be done. You have the opinion of running several different Smarty softwares available " free "

I'm not being a Smarty cheerleader, I'm just surprised you're being so demanding when you have the latest SW available to the Smarty and it's netted you the hp and times you have !
 
dude im done trying to explain everything,there are a line of people behind me, saying the same thing.and as far as listening to wade, what ever you say.your gears and larger tires, keep you alot lower in the rpm range them me at the end of a run,so how do you figure it doesnt come into play.and as far as my dyno number's,im probally a little over 700, the 683 was just to see if the mods i just put in were working at all.and like i said before again, im not demanding a thing, im real happy with the number's, its just we were told one thing and it never happened.it is what it is.since when are you in the 11's did you do anything else to your rig.
 
your 50 posts here complaining that you get no help sure looks like demands to me.

I have a lot more done to my truck than you may think. It's ran 11's for a while, on fuel only and a single turbo. The software does a lot more than you might think but, it's not everything.

Even at 700hp you're at the limits of what you're able to run. BigSwole is a resent example as he has the same truck as you. He has a complete built running race twins and I'm pretty sure more work done to his truck than you. He was able to run 11.47 Those 4/10th between him and you is another 100hp. he doesn't have that extra hp because of software or because it wasn't defueling It's there because his truck is built !

You don't have to keep explaining a thing to me. I was just telling you, I think you're out of control with the demands for free software to be adjusted for your needs. The line isn't as long as you might think considering there's 1000's of Smarty's out there. Every software they've come out with, no sooner is it released and people are wanting more. You do realize it wasn't but a few years back diesel were doing 13 seconds @ 100mph and that was fast as hell !

Marco is coming out to tune a couple of big h.p. trucks. There is one truck waiting on some machine work. There was a snag and some things had to get redone. As soon as it's complete he'll be coming out.



BTW, I guess you didn't get the picture earlier, but it looks like you're out of fuel. SW3 is pulling hard where SW9 is dropping off. (POST 308) That isn't smarty.

that's just a given with Bob. He may not have the answers sometimes, he is only the distributor and not the SW writer. He can only do what Marco allows...i,e giving out certain SW's and can you imagine the amount of emails/PM's the man sifts through on a daily basis.

I can't speak for Bob but, I've seen Bob post for a few years now and what I get from it is... it's better for him to not say anything rather than to give false info and he defends the product where he can. He has a lot of customers and does what he can to keep them happy. If anyone every has a serious problem, he has been all over it. Other things get put to the bottom of the pile.

You can't make everyone happy all of the time.
 
like i said before i dont really care anymore,the smarty isnt by any means the most powerfull out there.bob's lack of communication sucks, and his one line answer's annoy everybody. and the line is big triton, ive been getting pm's and call's for month's now from people i dont even know.anyway i was approached by someone else that told me about it, then noticed it.so i guess just be glad you dont have the problem.alaso what engine work does bigswole have, cause in his sig, a cam is the only thing he has i dont and dual fueler's.
 
Not trying to stir the pot any more, but your quarter mile times are better than mine. Last time out I ran a consistent 11.96 at 116mph. My truck's build date is 6/06, so it is an '07. I am running the Revo TNT. This is my sheet from last weekend. I took it to 3500 rpm on sw7.

why not sell the smarty in the classifieds (I'm sure you can get at least $550 for it) and buy a PPE? I saw a PPE in the classifieds for around $300, and A BD for $250. You could have BOTH programmers and be the happiest guy in the world.

Not that you would have a single problem with the PPE or BD, but if you did, maybe you could write them letters and see if they'd send out a specialist to correct every little problem you think should be fixed.

You better buy up the cheap PPE's and BD's now, cause as soon as you lay down BIG numbers with them, the "LINE OF PEOPLE BEHIND YOU" will be buying them up like crazy.
