Southern Outlaw Diesel

Just throwing this out there for debate. How would the Pro Street guys feel about maybe a $500.00 buy in for this race? Pro Street has never ran for a huge purse and want to see how many trucks that we could get involved. Give me some feedback on this as we are about 8 weeks away from race day. May have to set some kind of minimum qualifying times or something like that. What say you?

SC is in for $500 entry... maybe two of them :Cheer:

We don't haul down there and race to lose do we? I say if you can afford to build/maintain/haul a PS truck, $500 entry to WIN is easy cheese

Gary,

Just a suggestion...

Make sure to set the payout structure IN ADVANCE!!

Like...

1st - 50%
2nd - 25%
Semi's - 12.5%

Will you keep a portion of the gross for expenses, say 25%? If so..cool, but just make sure the payout structure is SET BEFORE the race.

Yes, I will probably need to keep a little to cover track expenses. Guys I'm not doing this to make a living, just trying to get a little help putting the race on. I like the big entry fee really, give's us a chance to run for some real money. I'm still waiting on some other drivers and owners to chime in, I need as much feedback on this as I can get. The race is 7 to 8 weeks away and I've only received the money for one Super Stock entry. Everyone that attended last year has pretty much verbally commited to be here, I just need to start seeing some money roll in. I've gotten a few commitments from a couple of shops, I would really like to see some more shops help fund it. Every little bit helps make it worth the trip to Florida in the sunshine and the warmth!! I know I'm gonna get another call from the track Monday and I want to be able to tell them that this race is going to HAPPEN. Thanks for all of your support, Gary

I'll put Super Street in and see if it looks like anyone wants to keep it for this race. Don't be afraid to offer constructive criticism. I want to make this race as good and as interesting for the majority of the racers. Let me know what you think.

Gary im not hating just asking questions.

what trucks are elligible for super street? isnt this the class at ts that has had like 1-2 trucks in it for the last few years? id make your super street class like nhrdas super street as a step down from pro street, not a step up.

That's what I'm looking for Scott, suggestions. Tell me what the racers want, I have time to listen and change if need be. Whatever it takes to get the truck count up.

Probably the normal fees, just trying my best to generate some interest. Trying to keep it affordable for all.

i think a super street class with rules close to nhrda's would be cool. seems like theres more and more trucks running that class these days.

i dont think ill make it this year, just throwing out some thoughts

I,ll be there with mine in Super Stock, thanks for putting on the race.

I say $500 entry for Pro Street is a great idea. Im in.

Same thing happened to regular drag racing....grudge turned into big pots, and then into X275 and outlaw 10.5W, and now it's a big deal. I think a $500 entry is a good idea!

Just as jacked up on weight as TS race. Pro street & susper street have a 400lb. void.

back the weights up: SS 3,500-4,499. Pro street 4,500+ .......

how about an 11.50 class for us slow trucks.....maybe for 250$ a pop.....i can see alot of truck showing up for that....just throwing it out there..:tree:

I say $500 entry for Pro Street is a great idea. Im in.

It's either a good thing or a bad thing. This might stop some people from coming out to race that Don't have the money for hotel, traveling expenses + another $500 just to enter. We are not quite Top Fuel in which each team has sponsor money to pay everything.

I personally agree....im not sure why but I do. If im gonna go out and break shat I at least want to have the chance to win money.

Friends ask me all the time " You win any money with this racing " And I tell them the honest truth....nope. They always ask why the h3ll you do it then?
