Well Einstein..........

Title 49 is a FEDERAL DOT regulation....It applies to ANY MOTOR VEHICLE that travels on any Federal Highway(Interstate).

But........ if the extent of your travels are from the pig farm to Billy Bob's Choke & Puke down $hithouse Lane for a dinner date with your girl-friend/sister then across the street to Douche Bag Drive-In for the weekly showing of "Deliverence" and some family groping.........then I guess you could consider it "Street Legal":hehe::hehe:

:hehe: :owned: :hehe:

It may be federal law but its up to the states to up hold it...its illegal to tamper with vehicles emissions and noise reduction systems yet 90% of the trucks on here have and aren't "street legal". So what get over it, if he gets caught ok, if not fine.

So I can Rape and Murder and its ok as long as I don't get caught?:what:

Wow your an idiot :bang

nope jerrod you are by your own principle... its legal as long as you dont get caught.

I just read the first page of this and not going to waste time of my life reading the other pages so that being said, I dont understand why all the *****ing about N.O.S. Let people use it. 90% of people dont understand it so it gets a bad name when you blow your junk up. Its cheap horsepower. Its no different than calling a turbo cheating. They are both power adders. :nos:

I've seen people that do know how to use it blow thier junk up. Just takes longer for them to do it. Actually we are not complaining about N.O.S. we are complaining about Nitrous and how it doesn't belong on the sled pulling track. Go do some reading before you post.

You are right about one thing-you don't get it.

Why not propane then? or nitro? or hell let the gassers in,or a bulldozer, or a semi etc etc, why not just call it, HERES THE &^$&^ SLED HOOK IT UP OPEN TO THE WORLD!!!!!!!

Now Gene

So me a single time a nos powered truck won a pull. Don't hate the player, Hate the game.

Where? I highly doubt you know enough in the Diesel side of things to win against the PLAYERS!!!lol

Um last time I checked nos was nitrous oxide? Tell me why is dosent belong in sled pulling. I bet you cannot give me a logical reason. What do I need to read up on. Its probably you crying on every page how nitrous is awful and you jump on a band wagon bashing it and you never really tried it.

Its all welcome in my book. "Run what you brung and hope you brought enough." If you are scared take up knitting or something. I have been at this stuff for years and have seen the evolution that about every motorsport takes. It will just keep getting further and further out there as technology grows and gets more popular. Diesel trucks are last on the market. All this stuff has been out for years in the gas burner stuff and slow making its way into diesels. There will always be the haters. It will just pass them.

Who said we are scared? We just dont think it belongs in pulling. If you want nitrous, go to the drag strip.

Again I ask. What is your logical answer to this. I would just like to know so I too can join the band wagon.

I did go back and read some and most people say yes to water and no to nitrous. THEY DO THE SAME THING. N2O H20. All you want is that one oxygen atom. The same thing a turbo does. Stuff more air into a cylinder. I am by no means a pro-nitrous guy and it does and doesn't have its place, I am just trying to get a good reason why people don't want nitrous in pulling, and don't tell me because it blows your stuff up faster. If it does oh well that falls back to let them run it because they will never finish the sled pull and you will win anyways.

My logical reasons for not allowing Nitrous.....

1) there wont be any classes. if you throw Nawz in the mix, turbo size wont matter. you can have a guy with a 62mm charger spraying Banks amout into the motor and having the same amout of Dyno HP as a 3.0 charger truck on fuel only.

2) tech would be painfully long! Checking turbos is long enough, now you want to go over an entire wet or dry system? Measureing jet sizes, solinoid sizes, and all that will take FOREVER!!!!

3) insurance companies dont like drugs. Its hard enough to get insurance for a pull, and if you say that you are allowing Nitrous in a pull....nobody is going to cover the event!

4)If nitrous is allowed, the rule sheet on that alnoe will be so long that most people wont be able to follow it. The rules in pulling is long eoung, most people dont want more rules.

5) Running fuel only keeps cost down. Its hard enough to build a motor, chassis, and drivetrain to hold fuel only HP that building for fuel and Spary would skyrocket the cost of pulling. Its not like drag racing....we are dragging 3x,xxxlbs down the track with us!

6) Sled pulling is deeply rooted in our coulture. pulling has been around A LOT longer than drag racing, and we have gone this long with out spary and many guys condem the thought of it. Just try telling a Pro Stock tractor driver he needs to spray his tractor!

I guess thats enough for now. Thats just my hunble openion though......

Boss pretty much summed it up for me. I am of the opinion that nos is a cheater hp and you know it is. Anybody in any motor sport that wanted to one up or sucker punch somebody (using this as a metaphor) would throw nos on so they could win and nobody can deny that. True you might have to tune to run nos properly for the most gain, but it is still a cheap, easy, shot of viagra for people to swell there internetc$ck for 15 min of fame. You want to be respected in the pulling world, do it the hard way like everybody else.

On edit, here is a good example.
Redstroke did a huge number on nos on a dyno and a not so good number on diesel. There was some complications yes, but none the less he had some good fame for a while but latly has been quiet while he is building a motor to not run nos on. Im not knocking this guy at all just showin that he caught enough slack plus said nos is hard on parts, decieded to do the diesel route. People were not accepting to his way of getting the big numbers.

"Run what ya brung" Last I heard that wasn't a class we are limited to certain things to make it fair. Such as turbo size welcome to diesel sled pulling

"been around this stuff for years" Never heard of you? Can think of alot of guys that have expecially guys like sledpuller. Not saying I have been around it for years but never heard or seen your truck?

"slowly making it's way to diesels" again you post nothing what you know diesel perfromance stuff has boomed and getting to be more popular than anything gas on the sledpulling track. Again welcome to diesel sledpulling!

"Always be Haters" Diesel sled pull has never allowed nitrous. You don't see any tractor guys running it and I don't even hear of many if any gas guys running it but maybe I don't know for certain. As for most the guys that hook to the sled say Nitrous does not belong on the sled pulling track! Welcome to Sled pulling I hope you have fun! :rockwoot:

Truck pullers

Truck pullers are about cheaters! Turbo's, suspension, motor placemant, wheel base, water, nitrous(yes people do cheat with it). Should it be in a class with a turbo limit, No. The rules are set for TS so why all the hate. I'm still willing to bet a nos truck does not win. I don't think hanging weight should be on a STREET TRUCK!!!!! but you don't see me telling everyone about it. You can't drive down the street with it"legaly". Jeff
