Do the people making these classes, realize that powerstrokes weigh over 8000 from the factory. I am at 8300 lbs empty with only 8 gallons of fuel. I can only really get it down to 8000 if I strip out a few things. Dodges and Duramaxes can add weight to be at 8000. Why couldnt it be 8500 across the board? My truck when I bought the truck was 8550. Gotta get things fair.

2008 F350 FX4 6" RIZE Lift
Atlas Springs
18x10 RBP 93R's w/ DC Mud Country 36x15.50's

lift tires
add alot fo wieght

sound systems?
bumpers?

I'm sure the 6" lift, atlas springs and 36" rubber don't make it any lighter. LOL Weight classes will change soon enough...until then enjoy the advantage, cause I doubt it's getting you any farther down the track.

Nope the lift and stuff on his truck probably doesnt add that much weight. My truck weighed 8460 with a full tank of fuel, I have taken some things out to lighten up, but even for me i have to take the back seat out to make weight

My truck at stock hieght, lighter wheels and tires than stock, no tray under the back seat, no spare, no tailgate, weights 8100, cant strip much more than that without the back seat, bumpers or something else comming out, thats also with a single turbo instead of twins (about 75lbs) full egr delete (another 75lbs lighter than stock) so you get the drift, when i brought the truck home it weighed 8700 bone stock.

my 02 wieghs around 7850 with no tailgate on 18x9s and 33 and half tank of fuel so im cutting it close also...i never wieghed it with my 15.50s but I know those tires were considerably heavyer than the 33x13 terragrapplers i had ran

Lift didnt add but 90 lbs. Tires added 200, but I removed the factory DPF and deleted EGR system, and I'd say that is 150-175 lbs. THe tiny bit of fuel sometimes gets me to the fuel station on fumes. Had to add trac bars, and now gotta add u-joint shields so that is gonna screw me even more.

House got his 4 door dually down to weight. The more weight we start adding to our trucks the more crap we are gonna break. 18 inch wheels and them tires arent helping you either. Hurting you more then anything with weight and power loss they are sucking up.

That 6.4 I got outweighs a 6.0 and 7.3. These new tires arent bad on weight. I am goin to a leveling kit and smaller tires this week hopefully and I will reweigh it. Probably will only drop 100 lbs max.

If you're feeling guilty about weighing too much, you could unbolt one of the turbos. That should be good for 20lb. or so... LOL

I am also a firm believer that the long wheelbase helps you more I wish I would have bought a crew cab

The lowest we ever got House's truck was 8,000 on the nose with 400#'s hanging off the weight rack. And that was just taking the rear seat and tailgate out!!

you're beating a dead horse---the only time you'll get 8500lb classes is if it's a bush pull---it's a #'s game and the big events or big organizations don't need more trucks to be a success so 8500lb loses, trust me, until some sled pull bureaucrat says "how about we add 8500lb classes" or one of them buys a truck that weighs that much and they don't want to drop the weight to play the 8000lb max will stay........I've been down this road and got nowhere--- albeit it was 5-7yrs ago when I wanted 8500lb classes out here in CA and we discussed it on the net and in meetings and I was shot down and the eastern sled pull mafia would have nothing to do with it and I highly doubt they ever will.........chris

Aren't Megacabs around 8200lbs from the factory?

I remember a thread about 2 years ago about this. It did not get anywhere too fast...

It did in NC a few years back. A buddy of mine saw me get DQ'd at Morgans Corner and the next pull and all future pulls have been 8500.
