Tired of 8000 lbs Classes

I've had to take alot of stuff off my mega-cab to get to 8000 including the back seat. When I went to the auto that helped alot.

Forgive my ignorance, and sorry to stray off topic but were you the one with the black mega dually at TS?!? That thing was HUMPIN IT down the track!! Looked awesome for sure!:rockwoot:

Thanks, yeah that was me.
Your truck looks great and hooks great nice work.

Im ok with the 8000 lb classes, it does suck that we cant hang weight but my truck is so long it really doesnt matter. And i can take weight off the back if i have to, so its sort of like hanging weight, as stated, you dont have to hand weight to win.

I've decided these long heavy trucks are better than a short lighter truck that can hang weight. I've watched alot of videos and at the start regular cabs that may have 1500-2000 lbs of hangin weight will always lift higher than a 4 door longbed with no hangin weight. Its all about that extra leverage we have to keep the front end down. Alot of rake helps too. I wish mine had more.

That is what I said the long wheelbase trucks hook better. It is a advantage to have that and the dually helps on most tracks, but not always, it depends on track condition.

i DID alot of studying at TS your truck looked hooked and i mean hooked to the track, lifted or not your chit runs awesome. Mine has about 3 inches of rake, I wanna go lower in the back on the street and go with about a 5 inch block for the track, just no easy way to change things in a hurry

But you are entirely right about the long wheel base, and they dont seam to get the bounce that some of the reg cabs get.

You fat trucks will always have a place to pull at NADM- its called exhibition.

However, in WS we may start giving the Fords a handicap, heck we let em run factory twin turbos and they still cant get near a Chevy or a Dodge.
You guys need to petition Ford, or something, we've been waiting 20 years for you to show up on the track.

Show me some fat truck numbers,AT AN EVENT, and we'll listen, not just internet yapping.

I have a 2004 crew cab short bed, 6.0, but I can hang 950 off the front.

How in the world did you accomplish that? My '04 extra-cab short-bed weighs 7000lbs even with half a tank of fuel. That's no running boards, no tailgate, no backseat, no blocks in the back, lighter rims and tires, etc...

I hung ~1000lb out front of mine last year, 99 ex cab long box, and still weighed just under 8000lb. No tailgate, spare and maybe 1/4 tank

what makes the newer trucks so darn heavy?

My 91 F350 camper special with me in it and a full load of fuel in the front tank, weighs only 5640 lbs. - Thats with big tires, traction bars etc. etc.

Factory twin turbos? Not our fault ford made them with twins stock... every pull i have been to with a true work stock class the 6.4s do very well... with proper tuning.

I was going to ask you where are those pulls... but I see you are in Wyoming, no offense, you guys got some good running factory twins out there? Cause back here, there are still hiding underneath the porch from Chevys and Dodges!!

Overheard from a Chevy guy on CompD:"Ford people know they deserve a beating."

That guy is brutal.:hehe:

I'm tired of all these "stock" pullers *****ing about rules.
I have an idea that will shut 'em all up!
Run whatever turbo you want, just as long as it appears to be stock
Stack as many tuners/chips/programmers/foolers as you wish.
The larger the injectors the better.
Any power modification that's invisible to the untrained eye is completely ok.
Truck shall not weigh more than 10K
However, anything that is visibly modified to make the truck appear "not stock" is prohibited
Drop boxes and reversers are not stock
Rockwell axles are not stock
Diesel is the only fuel considered stock
Tires over 33" high are not stock
Suspension and/or body lifts are not stock
And last but not least...Smoke is not stock and is grounds for instant dequalification and banishment from entering truck pulls for the period of 375 days from the time of infraction.

It's already obvious that this class will need a form of graduation or everyone will be soon pulling in the "stock" class, so here it is!
300 ft. is considered a full pull but there is a floating finish with the longest distance winning. All puller that pulls the sled past 315 ft. for two consecutive pulls in a row, or any puller that has more than two wins in a season, will automatically will be bumped to the next higher class at the next pulling event ;)

Let the critics begin! :hehe:
