Buddy of mine picked this up not to long ago, last year for the V8.

Lol, that book steal your wallet?

Ha ha no. Got it from a friend.

None of what he writes about is rocket science or out of line. He wants to use nitrous in the higher applications and drop the timing as he adds power.

Anyone know about the FMCSA law is for these new electronic logs?

Trying to find out if "local" guys and part time drivers need to have electronic logs in their trucks. Looking into purchasing an older Pete, but if i'm going to be required to upgrade the electronics on the truck to account for the logs, it may not be feasible to only have it for local runs and part time work...

If it's older than 2000 you don't need to worry about it.

I should be good for my truck (1984). But the boss's truck will be out of luck then. It's a 2015. haha
On the second part of that, I'm not sure about local guys. I'm guessing it'll be required but I haven't really looked into it.

Why would it? A log book isn't required in NYS for local work within 100 mile radius.

3 of our trucks don't run log books. You can either punch a time clock or use the air mile exemption log which is just a time sheet.

I still don't get the paranoia, you can cheat elogs too.

Nope, just dont have time to work on it, have a truck to pull rear diffs out of to use in this one, and then the odds and ends can be finished up.

looks like the truck I rode in when I was a kid..what yr is that..my dad hauled alotta steel in one of them
