OK, before anyone goes to bashing i want to say this first THE PUMP IS GOING TO BE BENCHED!!

With that outta the way here goes: searched around quite a few forums and found that there has been some overall benefit from this procedure. so i figured why the heck not?! Its free! Pretty straight forward and easy to do loosened the two nuts and used a punch to tap them. The only real problem was the #6, had a hard time loosening it but i got it all done within 30 minutes.

Now for the results! All i can say is wow! i didnt think it would have made that big of a difference but acceleration is much faster, especially in 2nd and 3rd gear! i can finally get the tires to spin mashing it in 3rd gear! im stoked!

Thats it i guess.... only been an hour since i got it all done and tested it. Im going to test the 0-60 some more during the day. the best i have yet to do is 6.7 sec before i turned the barrels and some other mods.

The rpm is up about 100 and idles just over 1000rpm. just noticed it this morning, started normal today. just like any other day.

The smoke is grey-ish doing a free rev but its super black flooring it down the road.

With a stock plate in stock location my 215 pump picked up 19cc average. Went from 171cc to 190cc. With a 100 plate in stock location with the barrels turned I picked up 136cc. From 190cc to 326cc.

You need to retard the rack now.

BigBlDodge, yes they push a lot of fuel but the whole timing retarding thing I don't really care for.

Easily taken care of by just increasing the timing just a bit to compensate. Hopefully CTDYoungGun can figure out how to get around that so we won't have to deal with it anymore.

The only way to get "around it" is to change the plungers/barrels.

Isn't that what he's working on is a new design for those to eliminate the retarding?

Built-in advance using an different designed upper helix. Most don't know that the 160/175hp plunger is the only one that does not use a partially straight lower helix.

does it idle smooth?

Yes, it idles just like it did before, just slightly higher. I finally decided after a long time of being on the fence to just go for it. Pulls much harder 2500rpm-3000rpm where i shift. My stock fuel system is probly holding me back big time now.

Next: 60# valve springs and a aeromotive a1000 with regulator

What do the 180's use?

were are you in utah? ive got a set of springs that have never been out of the bags if you want

ok, i think im going to go try this right now.

Garrett

Make shure the barrels are rotated all the way, i checked by taking one of the nuts and the u shaped piece of metal off. They are hard to turn by hand but if you get a punch and a hammer it goes easy.

I sent mine to Seth and had it done professionally. All I can say is I need more air and the pump hasn't been close to being all the way up yet.

CTDYoungGun on here. I'm sure Goff would be more than willing to do it. He is located in SLC if you're not aware.

I assume this is why he is seeing a higher idle than normal?
