Turned the barrels today!

i did 18.3 including three dyno runs a failed burnout and a funny smoke out.... oh and that was at 80mph on the freeway

nice! yeah, i did 18.x on the way to yuma. stopped about 10 times. unknown amount of WOT 5th gear pulls. stopped in the dunes on the way back. i was pretty impressed. oh, that was with the 700lb shortblock in my bed too.the 19.1 was freeway, mixed city, and traffic on the freeway. also, had the shortblock in the bed for half of that too.

i dont know how your guys trucks are idleing smooth? because if there was an inbalance of fuel your truck would run kinda rough. but who knows

you would be surprised, pop tested my trucks injectors sunday and there was a 350 psi difference across the board with opening pressures. Set them all equal and didnt notice much of a difference at all at idle.

but I would leave it up to the pump shop to turn my barrels

sweet i was looking at those also! i hope i can push my stock hx 35 to its very limit with these injectors. :poke:

you will be WAY beyond the limit for the stock charger with 5x.014s. you should be beyond the limits of the stock charger with true 75hp sticks.

You don't have to turn the barrels to get there...stock injectors an hours worth of pump tuning, that Hx35 WILL be roasted and ready for recycling.

Yep.

I know turbos aren't cheap, but it is always a mystery to me why people will spend so much money on dumping fuel into a motor and ignore the air part.

what kind of numbers did you lay down?

I don't think they ignore it, more like the air part is too expencive

I doubt it, considering that they could easily put the money they are spending on injectors towards a turbo. If you look around and know what you're buying you can find some decent deals out there.

Those common rain injectors are expensive I believe, not like they are much cheaper than a turbo unlike our 12v injectors Dave!!!

if that was the case i would have gone through 10 hx35's

94 12valve: i put down 380 hp and 850 tq uncorrected at 4300ft elevation

It is dependent on how you use it. I could go for years having an overfueled motor with an hx35 on it because I don't drive like an idiot. If you use it, it will blow up sooner than later.

If you put down 380 with it, just think what you would do with a decent turbo on it.

I put down 407 hp with my HX35 in Ft. Collins, CO (about 5000ft I believe). I blew it up two weeks later racing a WRX. Can't wait to throw an S475 under my HE351, but need head studs/O-rings first.

yes, i can only imagine..... lets hope this little 35 lasts longer cause i just spent last weekend porting the dang thing (manifold included)

little update, truck starts a tad bit harder when the temperature drops below 6* than before. but the last time it was 6* i was mostly stock :poke:

Never mind, I had a brain fart! 94s do need bigger injectors but why stop at 215s? I have seen some 5x13s add a healthy 60hp to a stock truck and flow enough with pump tuning to easily make 700+ hp.
