what would cause my truck not to fuel?

Jamie I'm giving up on the VP. I'm tired of chasing down electrical gremlins and having sensors control my fueling for me.
 
check what jamie said.

Have you tried someone elses box.....one that they know actually fuels on their truck....switch it out and see?

i had an 02 for awhile..... dead vp and lift pump within 3 weeks off dealers lot... they wanted 4 grand to move lift pump to tank and replace my vp....


i parked it on it's roof, sold it to a buddy who rebuilt it, then burnt it and got 25 grand for it from insurance.... :rockwoot:
 
4 VP's in a year chasing this damn problem. Finally got a good one and now it's looking like the ECM is limiting me. Enough is enough.
 
So you for sure have the right wire taped on the pump? Take a pic of the one u have taped
 
I forgot to get batts for my camera (cell phone pics sucked) so tomorrow I'll get a couple from work and post them up. I've got the top plug on the VP with the wire closest to the head tapped.

Did you fix your boost leak yet? maybe the map sensor is not seeing enough boost to add more fuel, I just had a major boost leak on mine, it wouldnt build 3psi and it wasnt fueling much at all.

I might take ya up on that. I'll let ya know. I'm supposed to be heading towards elgin sometime this week.

Boost leak won't be fixed until saturday when I can pick up the elbow that bolts to the compressor housing.
 
Runs the best it ever has, pulls the hardest it ever has, runs clean and egt's are down.

And it sounds like you would do anything you could just to get it running hot and smokey now. I'm sorry, but did you want the truck to run strong (like it is) or did you just want high egt's and smoke?

Sorry, it just seems like the truck is running awesome, but you're only interested in high egt and smoke.
 
My ADR makes my truck surge like no other. I almost NEVER use it when I am daily driving. It sucks........
 
1 more thing to try.....find someone with a good scan tool and check your APPS % at full throttle

a friend of mind had somewhat the same problem as you and found out at WOT he was only getting something like 80% out of the APPS at WOT.....set it to 98-100% and lights the tires and smokes for miles and it never did that before....he said it's now a whole different truck

the pulse SHOULD have TPS% as a pid, my attitude did when i had it.
 
I have an extra 01 ECM I'd let you try if you want also... the bolt that holds the wiring harness broke off inside the plug, but you can still plug it in and I've driven my truck for two weeks without it and it never came loose so it would make a perfect test ECM.
