Yet another swap!! 2003 Excursion w/ 97 12v

nice.. I have a 12v in an Excursion im working one etc.. I am building twins tooand the Excursion heater / A/C box and the rear heater and a/c lines are a paint to work around. From your pictures yours is tight too. Can you pull your turbo out with out pulling the front off the truck?..I'm trying to get mine so its serviceable and every thing work and is easy to access.. so far its a pain.. I have a thread on the TDR about the build.
Thanks,
Deo

It is really tight. I you can get it without pulling the front of the truck off but you'll have take few things apart.

Okay here's some pics from the weekend.. Nothing very exciting happened.

Mounted the cruise servo (The stock ford gasser servo bracket and the 6.0 powersteering resivoir mounting holes line up pretty good!)

As you can see the bottom turbo is tight. I had to cut 1" off the outlet and .5" off the elbow for a total height reduction of 1.5". Tigged the elbow to the compressor outlet.

Built my battery tray. Finished most of the piping for the twins. Just have to build the charge pipe from the top turbo to the intercooler. Also completed a good chunck of the wiring.

Great build. Truck sounds real smooth. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Have too keep an eye out in Rapid now for a black Cummins powered Excursion.. See your old red 6.0l alot

the "first fire up" video wasnt the TRUE first fire was it? semas like it started way to easy way to fast be the the very first fire up? but im used to powerstrokes that take forever to start once you do a rebuild on them

also do you think it would have been any easier for the turbos if you would have went with an industrial manifiold (either middle dropped or 3rd gen style) rather then the stock one?

haha yeah that truck is still running some how. It is now part of our fleet. It has spent LOTS of time in the shop.

It was the first start. I didn't rebuild the motor. Actually it never lost a prime because i didn't open the fuel system.
