Project X Diesel VW Hot Rod Drag Week

not falling yet , why aren’t you here, its a great way to get out the word on diesel motorsports . Just like in the past 6 years when I have run at NHRA National Events . Being the first to run in Super Comp , Super Gas, and Super Street.
And driving 856 miles to Denver ,to run Super Street in Project X Diesel , being the first to ever drive in the gate at a NHRA National event with a street vehicle , and racing it , including running the AC .

We are going to get his car down the track before the race is over , if it will get to the strip with out pulling the intercooler boot off its going to run . The engine torques over and puls the hose off.

Ratchet strap the f@#$%& to the frame from the tallest point on the engine you can hook to. Make it work!

You ran Project X in Super Street? Did it tech in okay (rollbar, trans shield, etc)? I didn't realize it was quite that quick.

As far as being the first to drive in to a national event, I'm 99% sure a guy I used to know (Ramon Burrell) did it in Super Street back in the 1980's. He had a low 10-second turbo small-block Camaro, and he ALWAYS drove it to the track. He also had a streetable Opel GT that ran mid-8's, but they trailered that one in. He had room in the trailer for the Camaro, so I always figured that was his backup plan if he broke at the track.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

I think the best time they got out of it was a 14.1 not bad for a VW!

You don't say? Really? OMG!

The clutch worked great , we punished it to no end , and it held. high rpm launches , and full throttle shifts , but that is what I expected from Valair. Thanks Dan

You will see a lot more of this project in the future , I am confident that Project X Diesel " The Beetle " will be as prolific in print as my original Project X Diesel program.
We are going to the Texas Mile in a few weeks , and possibly to ECTA Maxton .

Nice job!!! Thats one helll of a minibike you got there. I question your stats that you are spouting off about......Where is that dragster? Quest for the 6's!!!

Greg, hope you all made it home ok. I must say that I had a great time meeting you and hanging out with you, Connie, and Matt. I must say that u are first class all the way. I hope to hang out with you all again in the future. Maybe I will have one of my heaps ready for Drag Week '10.
