tug a truck section

May be stupid but sure brings in some money. When there are two companies around here that put them on. Tug a truck and Truck wars and one complains because there other puts a pull on the same night. Not so much because its the same night but its because the are taking so much money from each other. and its not 5 or 10k. We are talking 50-100K in ONE NIGHT. So, is it still a stupid sport?

What about an Alternative Diesel Sport Section? Tug A Truck, Dirt Drags, Piston Throwing, Midget Tractor Racing?
 
To each their own, one person may think its trashy, one person may not, Everyone has diff likes/dislikes. I myself find tug-a-truck to be more interesting than drag racing, if that makes me trashy then so be it :rockwoot:
 
Just because you dont do it its stupid? I dont drag race and thats not stupid, I dont sled pull and its not stupid. Maybe the pot is just callin the kettle. Just sayin.

I will say, I was disappointed when Dad and I learned midget bowling is just midgets bowling. We thought it was bowling with midgets, which would be WAY cooler!

And making money doesn't prove something isn't stupid. Look at WWE, Justin Bieber, and gay pornLOLLOL

but yea just because you dont do something does not make it stupid. and no making money does not change it but maybe some time you guys should leave your purse at home with mom and come try it. I mean or you could stay at home and talk trash about tug a truck while watching midgets. Whatever your into. I Dont care.
 
If there are midgets on TV I'll be at Dad's watching! Yall can do what you want. I don't like it, just not my thing. But I'm not gonna try to stop you!

My only real issue with it is that we are already fighting the image of diesel motorsports being inbred toothless rednecks. Tug a truck isn't helping...
 
Fair enough but the people who do this every weekend, we dont see it that way. I forgot the diesel motorsports are high class sip my beer with my pinky out style of event. Thats my bad. As Twisted said, To each there own.

I personally don't so much see it that way either. I'm saying in the eyes of hotel managers, venue owners and such. Look at the problems that have happened at SDX and TS in the past. Will the public perceive the community as a whole as moving away from those guys that caused the problems or including them? Because that can be the difference in welcoming us to town or fighting to keep us out.

And I'm NOT saying the tug a truck guys are causing the problems. I'm purely talking about how it looks to people outside our little community.

As much as I don't care so much about image, there are times it matters in this world, right or not...
 
All i know is on the West side of ohio there are Truck tug-a-war events by Truck wars and tug-a-truck at 70% of our county fairs. Even in Lima a company and truck wars built a pad behind some businesses just to have tug a war events at and they are ok with it. Yes some big citys might not like the image your right and its wrong but sometimes its not the people who come to the event but the people running it and controling it. I dont know what happend at SDX and TS and i not going so try and say i do but the problem is not always with the people that come to the event.
