2wd Super Mod build

Dale, what I like is you are building it right in front of our eyes on a weekly basis, what we don't see is all the sweat and work you'll are doing. I'll say I like it and the idea as well as support you, hope to see some vids or maybe a pull in person.

Looking Good Dale. Thanks for the help BTW!!!!

So Ya got a name for it yet?? Im thinking the "Ant Eater" dont know why that name comes to mind :hehe:

Thank guy's for the great comment's.We took the body off of the frame friday morning and that afternoon we took the chassie and had it sand blasted. And saturday Dan painted primed and painted it and cleared it.I only got pictures of it sandblasted and primed. It was about to start to rain when we went to pick it up didn't even think about taking pictures. We put the chassie in the inclosed trailer so it don't get all messed till we start to put it back together after next week when Dan get's the body done.My brother and I work on cleaning the upper part of the garrage so I could set up my polishing equipment so I get started on polishing the stainless elbow's for the exhaust manifold, and the rest of the alluminum parts I will be busy for a while.

Still have heard from the machine shop about the head and block getting a little worried if we are going to get them back in time for TS.
And friday we went and picked up a 4x4 Sidkekick going to use it to pull the truck around with at the pull's have to do some stipping though like takeing the front bumper and cutting the body off even with the back of the rear tire's.we have to find a ECM for it it is missing and the guy wounder's why they couldn't get it to start.

Gezz Dale...you would use that dang Razor as a toilet if it had the option! :hehe::hehe:

Looks good!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious about the rear axle, hubs and brake assembly? What is it out of or based from? Also, I am just curious about the brake rotor size. I am no pro when it comes to the 2wd stuff but I have seen my fair share of twd's up here (one won the Grand National even at bowling green last year) and there rotors are HUGE!!!! From what I understand is they steer with there brakes. Maybe you can explain the difference to me or the theory behind it.

Thanks in advance...Ryan

Man that looks awsome!!! Great work!!! When ya get the bugs worked out and pullin real good the 4x4 guy's are going to be scratch'n their heads! Iv been down that road...pullin with good runnin 2wd's....it's not a pretty sight for the 4x4's LOL

Let me know if/when your coming to Indiana...i wanna watch!!!

The rear axle in his truck has Planetary style hubs. Thats what the big drum looking things are. You can see the Caliper and rotors behind the hubs. Most guys do use these type of rear axle to do the whole rear steer thing with the brakes much like a tractor. The planetaries make it easier to brake steer rather than the straight axle and hub type axles. The planetaries also make the rear axle alot stronger and can take alot more abuse.

Bragg I couldn't have said it anybetter good job,

Dan I got a camra Dan has stated on the body getting it ready for paint he asn't made his mind up yet if he is going to make a cowl hood or not would give us more room for the top turbo real close since we put a S400 on insted of the 42 garret.what do you guy's think would it make the front not look so long with a bigger cowl scoop.
Picture taken with a camra not my phone,

I like the new camera!!! I think a cowl would help break up hte hood some, but it's gonna look long no matter what. I can't believe you're doing all the prep work in the garage... mine's filthy after two weeks of bondo and fiberglass.

x2 on the cowl.
Dang dale your movin on pretty good... Ive been at a stand still since last week waiting for the ups guy. Ive got my tree stand set up on a light pole in the front yard so I can spot him....lol Got Three weeks to get her back to life. But sat down yesterday and brainstormed some better ideas for hanging weights and modified my hitch idea a little. Gotta get everything back together and get her over to kino fab to finish all the fab work.
I beleve we can make it if we stay with it, what do you say?

Lynn

I'm getting worried about our motor and clutch. My machinest hasn't even tutched the head and the block starting to get me pissed promissed me it would have been done a week after I brought it up to him that was 8weeks ago.I talked to ACE racing clutches last week The drawings was on paper but not being made yet.time is going to be limmited to work on the truck now because I go back to work tomorrow mornning.i had to pull the injection pump and injector out of the old ford wasn't running smooth.brought them up to Talordiesel this morning they tested the injector when I was there nothing wrong with them they only had 7000miles on them since thy put the 330hp tip in them.same with the pump. They will have it back to me wednesday some time.

you will have your's done before our's Dan don't think he is going to do the cowl hood this year would take to long he said.I would rather that he do it now soo he don't have repaint the hood He was also thing about a GT style scoop. What style you thing would look better. He did get the body all prime saturday. He has been working his ass off that fiberglass is a little wavey had do some putty work my garage is so nasty wright now I do all the polishing upstairs of the garage.I got all the stainles elbow's polished for the exhaust manifold and some of the other small parts still have alot more parts to get polished plus the turboes get polished.Have to wait for the head to get done so we can make the intake and polish it.You better have some sunglasses on to look at the motor.i gues if it don't run good it will look good any way.I will have Dan check on the weight for you Lynn to see if they have them cut yet.

Dale

We are about in the same boat Dale. We just got word this morning about the cam being shipped out this week for lynn's. Supposed to have been a 2 week turn around time. This is week 5. My transfer case is shot, so now I have to scrape up as much money as I can to get another one to go in the truck or to get a busted transfer case for parts.
