I heard Dale say that the motor was fired for the first time about 45min before they hooked to the sled. I guess the head gasket failed and just wouldnt let the motor run right. I think it is going to be VERY interesting to see that sucker go down the track!!!!!
Just wanted to say after reading 19 pages that I am still pretty excited to see this thing run.
I was also excited to see such a detailed thread on building a 2WD puller.
Now living in Australia they dont have any 4x4 truck/tractor pulling events here. They have tractor pulls and they have there 2wd Truck class. I was hoping to learn quite a bit on this forum so I can try and compete in the 2wd class in about 4 years.(it will take about 4 years to save up enough money for parts and all)
I will be learning quite a bit when I build my 1976 f250 12v. And now I cant thank you enough for showing such details on your 2wd truck build. I have learned quite a bit from reading all these pages and viewing these pics.
Well here you go can't wait for all off your opinion's on how it turned out good or bad I want to hear all critisisim? not a speller and don't care.
The intake was made by Mark from ShowMe Performance and he also milled the intake off of the head and of corse I did the polishing.the copper 6" tube from the turbo to the air gillitein was donated by john (dieselscout) and the 3' tubeing was donated by Keith & Chris from MCS.2 FASS pump came from Brad 240gph each.oil and gear lube was donated by Bill & Vicki Crow a Amsoil Dealer last week. And Greg (COMP461)And to Haisley's for rushing out the starter at the last the minute.
All that shiny stuff under the hood and all around your driver seat, and you opp for the cast wheels up front and black steel in the rear. WTF Dale..... lol J/K. The truck looks awsome. Maybe someday we will have one similar down here in the bluegrass.
We have plans for some Real wheels for the rear ran out of money their $550.00 each and I have another set of fronts that I stripping soo I can polish going to mount a set of 3rib tractor tires a little smaller than what is on it now.we have to redo the water injection system taking them off of the hobbs switches going differant route.
I think Lynn would look good in Mod 2wd Bragg if you start fabing now you could be done by next season.hoop to it.
