No, sir. The pump pin was used when I installed the pump gear to make sure everything was at TDC and then it was turned around. The timing pin in the gear case is also "out."

Make sure all of the rods will slide back and forth on the rod journals. Then flip it back right side up and remove the push tubes and see how it spins then.
It did spin alright while installing the mains, right?

You don't have to remove all the push tubes at once. When rolling it over, pay attention to the valves and their position. Start removing the tubes on the valves that are opened first. That way you can maybe pin point the cylinder that is causing the issue.
That went south fast. It was like that when you picked it up you think?
What should someone expect to pay to have the liners honed, probably one replaced, valve job, and get the bottom end and valve train buttoned up and ready to run?
Hows it turn over with the head removed?
